| Long Weekend Plans?? |
Aug 25, 2008 4:24 pm Mood: happy, 218 Views | | Well the last long weekend of summer is rapidly approaching.
What are your plans?
Anything special?
Not sure what we will do here yet...depends on the weather (totally unpredictable here at the moment).
Are you all looking forward to fall/autumn?
The end of summer usually means about 8-9 months of rain (seems constant here)...thats why I call this 'monsoon island'. I will have to work harder on enjoying the rain.
How do you spend your time in fall-winter? Take up a hobby? Watch t.v.? Spend more time online? Join something to get yourself out of the house more? Just curious as to what others do!
Hope your Monday is going well. Take care. |

| The Power of Words |
Aug 19, 2008 7:21 pm Mood: contemplative, 526 Views | | The words we speak or type have a power to effect others, if they choose to allow it.
We can say something hurtful, malicious, mean spirited and impact others lives with those words.
We can choose to speak nicely, positive, uplifting, give opionions etc, these words may have a positve impact in someones life.
About 1 1/2 - 2 years ago, I was reading a blog here at FF. It was by Lisa (Rojeli). I can't remember what the blog was about but a sentence she had wrote got me thinking. She had casually thrown something in her post about Self Respect. I hadn't given much thought to Self Respect prior to reading her post. The way she worded it really struck me hard and got my brain going in full speed.
Since then I have given alot of thought to Self Respect, how I allow others to treat me. I have learned to take a stand when I think I am not being treated fairly. We should 'treat others as we want to be treated' we should also DEMAND to be 'treated as we would treat others!'
I think in Lisas words, the way she phrased her post...it was meant for me to see that and take it to heart, to learn a major life lesson.
She has no idea her words have helped me so much. So a big hug to Lisa if she happens to read this!
We come here to the blogs to share various things. Sometimes we have no idea how what we say may effect others. Hopefully others find some things that effect their lives in a positive way. Something to help them through tough times, something to put a smile back on their faces when they are down. Or something to help them learn lifes lessons which we all must learn!
Take care and enjoy your night/day. |

| Vista?? |
Aug 18, 2008 8:32 pm Mood: confusled!!, 702 Views | | I have been using Vista since March. So far it is fine except one lil issue...more of an annoyance than anything else.
Before I can comment or post at FF I have to clear temp files, cookies etc. It used to be that I did this once as soon as I sign into FF and I was good to go. I could post or comment to my hearts desire and Vista cooperated.
Over the past few days I find I can post or comment once or twice then have to clear temp files/cookies or I will get the screen of doom telling me that the page isn't available. I can click the arrow back and try reposting if what I have typed happens to be there or clear files and cookies.
Now why oh why is this happening?!?! Is there something in my settings? Or just something to do with Vista?
As I mentioned it isn't too bad mainly just frustrating!
If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate some help with this.
Thank you for time. |

| More on Karma.... |
Aug 16, 2008 2:09 pm Mood: contemplative, 613 Views | | I wrote a blog about Karma a while back, here is the link to it Do you believe....
Gowers comment made me think alot since then...thanks just what I need is to think more than I already do!
His comment was So when bad things happen to good people, where's the karma?
Bad things DO happen to good people. Thats just life. Maybe the bad things aren't Karma?
We need to have bad things happen to teach us life lessons, help us gain strength. If life was peachy keen 24/7 365/year what would we learn? NOTHING!
Life to me is about living, learning then putting to use what we have learned. We learn lessons in various ways then we must live them. If we fail at living the lessons we are 'tested' in other ways until we eventually have truly learned that particular lesson.
Anyways these are some of my Sweetnsassy thoughts on a Hot Sunny Saturday! Hope your all enjoying your weekend. |

| 20 days.... |
Aug 13, 2008 5:38 pm Mood: hopeful, 803 Views | | Only 20 days left of summer vacation for the lil men, then its back to school. WOW summer has flown by.
I am hoping to make the next few weeks count and get as much summer fun in as we can.
Trips to the lake, picnics, BBQ's, maybe one more trip to the races to watch the local guys demolish their race cars.
How have you spent your summer?
What are some of your fondest memories for summer 2008?
Is summer over for you or do you still have a bit to go like us Canadians?
Here is a pic of a local lake that we go to. We either laze in the sun, swim, or take a hike around it. |

| Home Sweet Home |
Aug 2, 2008 11:19 am Mood: happy, 1213 Views | | Whhheeewww moving sucks! lol We are finally in our new place. The old place is behind us. Turned the page, another chapter of life is beginning.
Although our old place was rundown, in desperate need of repair because the landlord never did anything it was still sad for the kiddies to leave. I found for me it was a new start. All the bad memories of my separation from my husband, all the stuggles since disappeared...they were all left back at the old place. Now onto a new life in a much nicer home.
We have been here two days and the kids love it. The dogs think they are in heaven with a big yard to go roam in and play with the children. The atmosphere feels clean, crisp and a positive energy rather than negative.
My heart was touched deeply by a client that insisted on sending his crew over to help the last day. In times of need we find what we really mean to others. Ok enough on that I am tearing up
In my last post I noticed maybe my actions by fighting so hard to stay at the old place then moving may be confusing to some. My main purpose was my childrens stability. I needed to find a place close by, within walking distance to the boys school and my work, near their friends, close to shopping (I don't have a vehicle) and was hoping desperately to find a place that accepted animals. I found that house that gave me everything I needed to make the move as less stressful for my family. Its within two blocks of our old place so its familar, and has what I was looking for. My prayers were answered! I would have had to move anyway eventually, the fighting was becoming too stressful and affecting my childrens lives as well as me and my health.
So its for the best. Was meant to be, and we are HAPPY at last.
Thank you all for your prayers, positive thoughts and wishes that things would work out. They did!
Enjoy your weekend (to the Canadians another looong weekend woo hoo!!) |

| Missing you!! |
Jul 29, 2008 12:09 pm Mood: exhausted, 1375 Views | | I just stopped in to say Hi and to let you all know your in my thoughts and I miss you.
Life is extremely busy at the moment.
We have finally found a new place to live. We LOVE it and are in the midst of moving....UGGGHHH's lol.
Hopefully once we are fully moved out of the place we are at the stress levels will go down and life will get back to happier times. My present landlord isn't a happy camper that I stood up for my childrens and my rights and fought him. So its a pissing contest with him right till the end.
So thats the short version of whats happening here.
Again thank you all who have stopped in and left comments or read my past posts. I will get back to the blogs once everything is settled.
Thanks for stopping by and . |
