Bad luck...Good luck... |
Jul 1, 2008 3:27 am Mood: contemplative, 254 Views | | It's been a funny old couple of weeks.
Week 1 = Bad luck
various disasters...including losing my Sims 2 game play on the computer... See my other sims post Sim Mad? for details about the Freetime patch... It's Evil
Bought a new microphone and external dvd drive, and can't install them as the computer doesn't seem to have the drivers needed, even though they are supposed to be included in Windows Service pack 2... Even the techies at Dell and Logitech can't figure it out... hmm, what chance do I have then, lol Probably the usb chipset has burnt out or something... Still haven't resolved that problem... Arggghhhhhhh
Week 2 = Better/Good luck/Not sure luck...
I got my sims 2 game back up and running. I practically had to start again from scratch, but hey, at least I'm not simless anymore
Won a huge £6.50 on the Euromillions lottery, yay. I think I'm going to save my winnings for a rainy day (According to the weather forecast, that's tomorrow)
Finally completed my Sims 2 video series which is running on youtube. Ok, so the story isn't great, but what I am really pleased about, is actually finishing something I was writing. It's been a long time since I managed to complete anything with more than 10 lines, lol.
Oh, and one more thing happened yesterday... I got an email from a complete stranger (he had read my profile on another NON dating site) and he wondered if I would like to be his fiance Um...Who's been spraying me with perfume again...??
Ah, well, the last couple of weeks in June were memorable. Now let's see what July brings |

Sim Mad? |
Apr 6, 2007 11:26 am Mood: amused, 1952 Views | | Just wondering...Are there any other Sim 2 players here? I've been addicted to the game since the original The Sims came out. I also have a couple of the console versions of the games, but I'm not so fond of them. I prefer the PC version so that I can customize everything I've finally gotten around to ordering Seasons expansion pack, and I'm hoping that it will arrive tomorrow so that I can spend the weekend playing. I foresee a weekend of building snowmen and ice skating |

Jun 10, 2008 3:42 am Mood: Growing old, 674 Views | | FOUR SEASONS
Spring- I am new, with the potential to flourish and bloom.
Summer - I am a rose. Charming all with my beauty. Radiant in the sunlight.
Autumn - I am the falling leaves. Passing maturity at sunset and going out in a blaze of glory.
Winter - I am cold. Becoming thin and white like the first frost on a barren field.

| Learning from the Matrix |
May 30, 2008 9:45 am Mood: anxious, 878 Views | | Learning from the Matrix
Children will learn by downloading information directly into their brains within 30 years, an education expert has predictedChris Parry, the new chief executive of the Independent schools Council, said "Matrix-style" technology would render traditional lessons obsolete.
He said: "It's a very short route from wireless technology to actually getting the electrical connections in your brain to absorb that knowledge."
Mr Parry, a former Rear Admiral, spent three years determining the future strategic context for the military in a senior role at the Ministry of Defence.
He said the Keanu Reeves thriller may not look like science fiction in 30 years' time.
"Within 30 years, sitting down and learning something will be a thing of the past," Mr Parry said.
"I think people will be able to directly access, Matrix-style, all the vocabulary you need for a foreign language, leaving you just to clear up the grammar."
Mr Parry is now preparing the ISC's 1,300 private schools which collectively teach half a million children, for a high-tech future.

I've just read the article above, it's kind of scary to think technology is moving so fast, but then again, 30 years is a long time. What do you think? |

| Forum Complaint |
May 28, 2008 5:58 am Mood: annoyed, 879 Views | | FF I wish to complain
I noticed that when we post a blog there is an option to show in Forums - Why isn't there one for writing and poetry? Books and magazines is about the closest one to the subject but in my opinion, it doesn't really cover this.
hmph *gets back down off soap box*
Please give the writers here a better forum Thank you |

| Picture this? |
May 28, 2008 5:23 am Mood: enthusiastic, 863 Views | | I've been gone from the blogs for a while, and I'm a bit out of touch with everything, but I was thinking of doing a poetry/prose picture challenge if no one else has already started doing that.
If there is already one going, can someone supply a link so I can take a look. Thanks |

| The British love silver cars? |
May 27, 2008 8:32 am Mood: curious, 893 Views | | Ok, so I was out today (a rare occurrence) and on my travels I took a short-cut through the Leisure center car-park. It's quite a big parking area and it's close to the High Street, plus it's free, so there's always loads of car there. Something caught my attention. I would say nearly 75% (maybe more, I didn't stop to do a car count, lol) of all the cars parked were silver When did red go out of fashion, lol
I don't have a car anymore, but my last one was white. Have you noticed a trend in your part of the world? |
