Mood: crushed, 915 Views | | I'm 1 of the few who believes in unity. Well, I hope for it anyway...2day, I've been just thinking. Thinking about lots of things. Especially my loved ones that I will never see again, the ones I do have still, and how I cherish them more than they will ever come 2 know. Thinking of all this fussing and fighting, this horrendous war, that's cost me just about everything I've got, and how my family and I are suffering from someone else's acts. I miss them....Started out with a big family, I'm talking over 100 people...That's normal here...Now, I've got 3 counting me. Ya, it hurts....I try 2 block it out sometimes, but right now, I can't! That's what happens when ur mind's 2 active. Sometimes....I usually don't admit this....especially going public about it....but sometimes I cry when I think of them at night, or around special occasions...wishing I still had them...As I said before, I'm suffering from someone else's cowardly acts. Even though he's gone, I still hate Hussein! I hate him! I will never forgive the son for what he's done 2 my people, my country, my family, me....and though I've never met him, no idea where he is, or if he's even still there, I'll never 4give Bin Laden either! Never! Never never never! Grrrr I need 2 hit something! In my mind anyway, it's cuz of him that all this is the way it is! It's cuz of him and a few other dirtbags that my life has fallen 2 bits! He can't bring my family back 2 me, therefore, I want nothing from him, so there is no way 2 fix this, thus, I will never ever ever! 4give the creep! Sorry, just had 2 vent. I've just been all over the place emotionally, and if I didn't let it come out lol, tonight, I would have surely went out of my mind! No doubt! | |

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
'Oh excuse me please' was my reply.
He said, 'Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you.'
We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.
But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.
Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
'Move out of the way,' I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.
While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,
'While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you seem to abuse.
Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.
Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.'
By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.
I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
'Wake up, little one, wake up,' I said.
'Are these the flowers you picked for me?'
He smiled, 'I found 'em, out by the tree.
I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue.'
I said, 'Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way.'
He said, 'Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway.'
I said, 'Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.'
FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company
that we are working for could easily replace us in
a matter of days.
But the family we left behind will feel the loss
for the rest of their lives.
And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more
into work than into our own family,
an unwise investment indeed,
don't you think?

712 Views | First, I'd like 2 apologize if I made u feel insulted, I certainly didn't mean 2 come across that way, so there is no need 2 feel embarrassed, or ashamed 2 ask me things about the Middle East...Ok, I was going 2 make this a comment, but it would b long enough 2 turn into a post lollol haha! In this post, I will give u a brief overview of Assyrians, Iraqis, Arabs, and even the dif between Shiites and Sunis because u asked me that before. Ok let's start with the Assyrians and Iraqis. The reason ur student told u he was not an Arab, is simply because he wasn't. U see, not all Iraqis are Arabs, I'll get 2 that later. However, large populations of Assyrian people do occupy the Middle East, especially Iraq, hense, Iraqis are, 4 the most part anyway, descendents of Assyrian people it's true. However, the Assyrians migrated, as did the Arabs, which changed things around. U see, a very small percentage, in the single didgets, are true Arabs. I mean in general not just Iraqis. U know the saying, we all came from somewhere....In this case we are descendents of Assyrians. However, all this immigrating, caused people to fiddle with the genepool, and now, we have what I like 2 call the new Arabs, although, we're not exactly new, and I realize thats not exactly a formal way of putting it, but now u have Arabs all over the Middle East, and in the western world, and yes, there is a vast majority in Iraq. Although we are descendents as I metntioned twice lol, I do not see myself as an Assyrian, some may, because there are some left who are pure Arabs, and some who are pure Assyrians ok? Having said that, it is never safe 2 assume one's heritage, and a common mistake people make is mixing race up with ethnycity, branch, etc. Arab is a branch as I stated. Ok, hope that part helped lol haha, moving away from the Iraqis and Assyrians lols, let me now tell u about the Iraqis who are not Arabs. They often are mixed up with Arabs, but are not. See, there are the Iraqi Arabs, then the Kurds. U probably know this, but Kurds are not Arabs....I can fill u in on that at a later time. Another thing ppl confuse, they often ask me if all Iraqis are Arabs, and if all Arabs are Muslims. No, and no. A vast majority of Arabs, but not all are Muslims. Most are Suni, however, in Iraq, the Shiites are the majority, ok. Now, 2 close off, I gotta go, lol, the difference between Shiites, and Sunis has nothing 2 do with beliefs and practices. It's all in the politics. Lol they fight over which side should lead Islam. Pssssstttt. Don't tell no 1, I'm a Shiite!

Lol! Lmiao laughing my Iraqi ass off! Hahaha! She kept going on about how she like the harsh reputation Arabs have! I'm like, uh, what reputation? What are u getting at missie? I knew what she was talking about, I know exactly what reputation, but, come on! I was being just as rediculous as she was! Lol I want to make a connection with someone. Someone, I dunno who, but someone picked that, but didn't back it up. Haha! Y not! 2 chicken now? I have no problem with opinions, but if ur gonna say something like that about a certain group, and yes, I am an Arab, u better back it up with at least some kind of evidence, or reason 4 ur thinking.
