Don't you just love our pets? I think all of our furry friends are amazing. I still have 3 cats. Dandelion, Daisy and Rusty. Dande and Daisy are siblings at age 12 and a half. Rusty is over 5 years. Only Dande will sit still long enough to pose for a picture. Here he is...........my dandy Dandelion.

Last year at this time we had enough snow to come up past your knees. This year we've had nothing.
In the states we celebrate Thanksgiving on November 26th. As was last year I'll be at my Mother's home for the dinner. That's the one thing I'll be most thankful for. That's having a Mother still. Last January Mom went into the hospital several times with breathing and heart troubles. They adjusted her medications and by now my Mom is doing quite well. I amazed at her strength. At age 84 she's still a tough old bird, her words not mine. For anyone who's Mom is still alive I sympathize with you. No one ever wants to lose their best friend. Mom is mine, how could she not be? Who else ever did so much for me, supported me, scolded me and cooked home meals for thanksgiving? The answer: No one. No one ever could.
No matter how many days I live I could never repay the love that Mom made for all four of her sons.

Today I took my bicycle ride around Presque Isle State Park. I left from my house and rode down the hill to the park. The round trip is nearly 17 miles.
For the first time all summer I had to wear a light jacket. It was cool with an Easterly breeze. When I reached the 5.5 mile marker on the all purpose trail I looked to my right and saw the Flagship Niagara sailing with about half of her sails open.
The Niagara was heading towards the channel that separates the Presque Isle Bay from Lake Erie. I was getting near the turn off to the channel so I started to ride fast. The trail took me away from the Niagara's sight but I knew she was out there.
As I rode up to the channel I saw the brig heading out to the East on Erie. I missed her but I didn't miss her majestic sight.
It was nearly 200 years ago that the Brig Niagara helped Oliver Hazard Perry defeat the British in the Battle of Lake Erie during the war of 1812.
I came home and walked down to the beach for a walk and to enjoy the bright sun. By now I could remove the jacket, shirt and T shirt. I looked for the brig but she didn't venture to the West.
Not a sight that I see everyday. It was truly a glorious day.

Recently I sent an email to an old friend. She replied with this secret message.

Someone suggested that I read read this upside down. That only then would I realize the depth of her emotional connection to me. I'm so excited...lets turn it upside down.

Yesterday was a very productive day. I rode my bicycle to the hair salon and got my haircut. Then I rode to the grocery store for supplies, mainly cat food. After lunch I rode my bicycle around Presque Isle State Park and back. A total of about 25 miles or so on my bike. The sun was out and it was pleasant. I got a lot of sun which I like. The last night a friend stopped by and we watched the comedy on NBC.
Toady I'm going to a different grocery store and am stopping by my Mothers on the way. This afternoon I've got to practice my saxophone for a bit. maybe walk along the beach and possibly another ride around the peninsula.
Here in the States we're celebrating yet another holiday this weekend, this one's called Labor Day. The weather is going to be fantastic. time for family and friends.
I'm going to make more of an effort to find a woman to go out with. Even just for a friendly date. I've been on my own for far too long. Being alone is great but it sometimes feels like a void, maybe it's unnatural to be by oneself all the time.

To bash or not to bash, that is the question.

Once upon a time a little bird told me not to engage in blog warfare. For a time I did not listen. Then came the time when I was beaten off the site by my own lack of control. I became so embroiled in anger I couldn't think straight. I lashed out at those who sided against me. Finally I was kicked off the site, never to return.
Eight months later I returned with my heart and head in a much calmer place. What others were posting no longer bothered me. Live and let live is my motto.
Then the day came when one little pill pot decided he knew all about me even though he had never commented on any of my blog posts. He falsely accused me of being an abuser of women. He said I even physically abused women. I never even had any conversations with this person.
I stood up for myself and fended off the libel and slanderous accusations as anyone should.
To bash or not to bash is the question. The answer is not to bash.
People who bear false witness or those who believe in hearsay are mistaken. Time tells the truth. Sometimes it takes a long time to come to fruition, but the truth always lets itself be known.
The moral of this story is:
If you don't have anything nice to say then say nothing.
