Sailing slowly across my sea
My sea of tranquility
Where I might go is my only choice
I just follow my inner voice.
So sweet I make my life to be
Following feelings; being free.
And then my ship encounters and island
A place where I find no demand
Yet I find this place so satisfying
Bind my heart with simple sighing
Together, alone and growing close
What might come to be
No one knows.

Following the steps
In the shadow of my dreams
Along the path in my mind
Looking back on the mile stones I have achieved
But where is the vision that once guided me,
The one that I held so closely to my heart?
I remember once I caught a ride on a star
Travelling so fast, I think I went too far.
I trusted my instincts, an adventure I did have
The risks were great
I hope it is not too late
To find my shadow again.

I once looked out my window at night
And I wondered, “Do you feel the way that I do?”
Do you see the world through my eyes?
Only now I turn and shake my head in disbelief
Knowing that just one heart lost
Could cause so much grief.
My soul went to the moon and stars
You lit the fire that took me there.
It was the one place that I could be myself
With no other, but you.
Tonight, I turn back around and look out my window
And see the moon to be never the same as it was
I gently call out your name
Into the darkened moonlit sky
And remember now I sit alone
As I heard the moon sigh.
