We all wish for something great to happen in our lives Every wish is different With so much adversity in our lives I bet there are many wishes waiting to happen. I woke up this morning thinking Thinking how fortunate I am, because You didn’t give up on me. For months and months I told you there is no one that can fill that empty void But still, you Held my hand, dried my tears You got me to open up, you listened to me. You didn’t give up on me. Then it was something that you said I will never forget “Fill the emptiness you feel inside with the beauty I see inside your heart.” Friends are God’s miracles, because You didn’t give up on me.

As some of you know, I am busy packing up and getting ready to move back to Southern California. Yesterday, I asked my friend, Dave, to help me move some things out of my house. With my SUV packed to the windows, he asks me if I could take him to a store not much out of my way of where we were going. I am saying to myself, “Ok, I could do that. He knows where it is and he will show me the way.” Now for those of you who don’t know me, I get lost quite easily even with a GPS. At least I am back in the states and not trying to find my way around the United Kingdom with the GSP saying, “Take the third exit at the next roundabout.” When I first heard that I thought, “What the heck is a roundabout?” When we got to the roundabout, it is like driving in a miniature Nascar race in the wrong direction! There is no way one even has a chance to read any of the street signs as they wiz by and then once one has gone around in one of those roundabouts a few times then the count is lost as to where the first exit was to begin with. So how in the heck am I ever going to find the third exit? They all look alike!! Over here in the states, at least I can get my bearings while I am wasting my time sitting at a red traffic signal looking for what the street name is. Don’t misunderstand me. Once I got familiar with roundabouts, they are quite actually more functional than traffic lights. As Dave is giving me directions, he tells me to go left. So I did. I don’t know where the heck I am. He said, “This is not the correct street!” Oh, no!! My mind is now busy trying to get my bearings as to where I was before, looking for street signs when all of the sudden we come upon a massive speed bump that came out of nowhere! I didn’t notice it because I busy trying to figure out where I was going. After all, he was the one that advised me to turn left in the first place!!! As we are going over this speed bump, everything in my SUV started flying upwards towards the ceiling while both Dave and I were lifted up off out of our seats. Cur-blunk!! Shocked as we were, I couldn’t help but start laughing uncontrollably because I know he was thinking, “Woman drivers!!!” But you told me to go left!! Now that makes it all his fault, right? LOL So, here is my question? I am the girl and he is the guy so it is his entire fault that we hit that speed bump, right? LOL I would like to know what you think because I am a very good driver. I just get lost too easy and besides he was sitting in the shot gun seat knowing all this. (Actually, Dave is a really great friend. I have known him for 12 years now. We always seem to have some kind of fun adventure together.) It would be fun to hear some feedback from you. (You are probably having a good laugh at my expense anyway.) Have a great day!!

Love is Like A Tidal Wave

One of these days he’ll miss my heart Cause love can hit you like a tidal wave He’s gone again and left me alone Put up his sails and blew away I felt the strong wind As I stood on the shoreline Thinking of how dangerous cliffs can be. But, you know, one of these days he’ll miss my heart He’ll wake up one morning and realize The emptiness he was trying to fill Was right here in front of his eyes. Cause love can hit you like a tidal wave You can’t see it coming Before it’s too late It comes on strong and sweeps you off your feet Love is like a tidal wave Cause one of these days he’ll miss my heart.

Because You Love

It doesn’t matter: How much I love you, or How much you love me, or How much I have to offer you, or That you have a beautiful heart and mind, or What it costs, or What you loose, or Where we live, or All the happiness we shared, or All the memories we have, or How many promises you made, or That I beg you stop, or That you lie to yourself; lie to me about it, or How much you try to hide it, or How many times I have forgiven you.
I suppose for the first time in my life I am envious of the power of alcohol. Your love for her is more; she took you away from me. I wish it was like you had found another woman. At least I could tell you to go to her, if that what’s brings you happiness. Instead, I sit here with a broken heart, crying my eyes out watching you waste away your beautiful soul. I pray that you wake up, right now and see what you are allowing her to do to you. But no matter what you do, today, or tomorrow; I will always love you.
It is because you love the bottle more! |

45 Lessons Life Taught Me

By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland. (To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written. My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more.)
1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good. 2. When in doubt, just take the next small step. 3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick.. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch. 5. Pay off your credit cards every month. 6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree. 7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone. 8.. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it. 9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck. 10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile. 11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present. 12. It's OK to let your children see you cry. 13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about. 14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it. 15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks. 16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind. 17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful. 18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else. 20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer. 21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special. 22. Over prepare, then go with the flow. 23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple. 24. The most important sex organ is the brain. 25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you. 26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?' 27. Always choose life. 28. Forgive everyone everything. 29. What other people think of you is none of your business. 30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time. 31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change. 32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does. 33. Believe in miracles. 34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do. 35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young. 37. Your children get only one childhood. 38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved. 39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere. 40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back. 41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need. 42. The best is yet to come. 43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up. 44. Yield. 45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

Not Knowing What Lies Ahead

Scars Some years ago, on a hot summer day in South Florida , a little boy decided to go for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his house. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving behind shoes, socks, and shirt as he went.
He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore.
His father, working in the yard, saw the two as they got closer and closer together.
In utter fear, he ran toward the water, yelling to his son as loudly as he could.
Hearing his voice, the little boy became alarmed and made a U-turn to swim to his father. It was too late. Just as he reached his father, the alligator reached him.
From the dock, the father grabbed his little boy by the arms just as the alligator snatched his legs. That began an incredible tug-of-war between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the father, but the father was much too passionate to let go.
A farmer happened to drive by, heard his screams, raced from his truck, took aim and shot the alligator.
Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little boy survived. His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack of the animal.
And on his arms, were deep scratches where his father's fingernails dug into his flesh in his effort to hang on to the son he loved.
The newspaper reporter, who interviewed the boy after the trauma, asked if he would show him his scars. The boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with obvious pride, he said to the reporter, 'But look at my arms. I have great scars on my arms, too. I have them because my Dad wouldn't let go.'
You and I can identify with that little boy. We have scars, too. No, not from an alligator, but the scars of a painful past. Some of those scars are unsightly and have caused us deep regret. But, some wounds, my friend, are because God has refused to let go. In the midst of your struggle, God's been there holding on to you.
The Scripture teaches that God loves you. You are a child of God.. God wants to protect you and provide for you in every way. But sometimes we foolishly wade into dangerous situations, not knowing what lies ahead. The swimming hole of life is filled with peril - and we forget that the enemy is waiting to attack... That's when the tug-of-war begins - and if you have the scars of God's love on your arms, be very, very grateful. God did not and will not ever let you go.
