What do you know for sure? Nov 14, 2005 6:06 pm

Okay, I think this is something that Oprah asks her guests, and since I'm not a real big fan of Oprah, I'm not sure why I'm writing about this, except it seems like a really good question and one that can make you think. I don't even know what my answer is...

Hmm, let's see. I know for sure that:

-I am an animal lover. It's really hard for me to even kills bugs. I catch spiders in a glass and set them free outside.
-that if I could re-do the food pyramid that I would make chocolate a mandatory food group.
-that I have strong opinions about things and it's hard to convince me that I am wrong.
-I am a good listener, but I don't always give good advice.

That's all I can come up with for now. I didn't want to state the obvious, like, I know for sure that I am a 32 year old woman with brown hair and green eyes, who lives in a condo with two cats and blah, blah, blah.

Is there anything you know for sure!?

Forgive Your Enemies! Nov 14, 2005 2:26 pm
Mood: giggly, 1078 Views
I never post jokes, but this one time I just had to make an exception. Enjoy!

Sunday's sermon was---Forgive Your Enemies.

Toward the end of the service, the Minister asked, "How many of you have forgiven your enemies?" 80% held up their hands. The Minister then repeated his question. All responded this time, except one small elderly Lady. "Mrs. Jones, "Are you not willing to forgive your enemies?" "I don't have any." She replied, smiling sweetly. "Mrs. Jones, that is very unusual. How old are you?" "Ninety-eight." She replied. "Oh Mrs. Jones, would you please come down in front & tell us all how a person can live ninety-eight years & not have an enemy in the world?"

The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle, faced the congregation, and said: "I outlived the bitches."

If you read my earlier blog, I must apologize for sounding so bitchy...I was not having a good morning. It's still not that great of a day, but I've calmed down a little. But, I think some chocolate would really help, so I'm going over to Walgreens and I'm going to buy some chocolate dammit!

Complaining...Don't Bother Reading Nov 14, 2005 7:31 am

I am having a terrible day so far. I despise Mondays. I woke up feeling absolutely exhausted. I look in the mirror and my allergies have struck again. I had HUGE bags under my eyes, which only brings out the wrinkles. It took me forever to get going this morning, so I had to rush to the train station and swear at every asshole in every stupid car on my way there, because people don't know how to drive, drink coffee and talk on the cell phone at the same time (why in the hell are they trying to do all that anyway??). Then the train was almost 20 minutes late because of switching problems (whatever the hell that means), and my boss doesn't care why I'm late, she only cares that I'm late. Only she won't say anything to me about it today, she will bring it up around bonus time and tell me that I'm not getting my full bonus because I was late too many times.

And now I'm sitting at my desk, not wanting to do my job, because I hate it right now. I don't want to check my voice mail, or answer the phone, because it will only be people complaining, because nobody ever has anything nice to say anymore. I don't want to talk to my co-workers because they only ever need something from me. And on top of everything else, even though the bags went away, now my eyes are itchy and watery because of my damn allergies.

I need a frickin vacation. But what good would that do. I'd still have to come back to this hell hole and be even further behind than I already am!

Wah, frickin, wah...somebody shoot me. I am sure there are plenty of volunteers!

Aging, sort of Nov 13, 2005 8:06 pm

Okay, yesterday I plucked out my second gray hair. For about two years, I've had one gray hair that I pull out whenever I notice it, which is usually when it is about two inches long. But yesterday, I noticed a new one and this one had gotten to almost three inches. How had I not noticed it before? Man, I hope I don't find anymore...I don't know how long I can keep pulling them out!

And what is even crazier is I have to put frickin zit cream all over my face still! I don't get bad break outs, but I still get zits.

So, I'm pulling out gray hairs and covering my zits. Is that what it's like to be in your 30's??

I'm single and that's okay! Nov 13, 2005 7:20 pm

I'm not looking for a relationship. I like where I'm at right now. I don't need a boyfriend to make me happy (although a date every now and then would be nice).

You know, I don't think there is anything wrong with being single and being okay with it!

It's liberating!

Family Day Nov 13, 2005 4:16 pm

I'm home, with about four hours to chill out before I go to bed. It was definitely family day today. First the circus and then we went out to dinner. I am stuffed! I did have some cotton candy at the circus (but it was my nephew's, I didn't buy my own). I also had a hot dog, cracker jack, popcorn and some of my sister's nachos! Holy COW!! Mooo...I think I gained ten pounds!! The circus was fine, I especially liked the elephants...the ring leader said they weigh around 9,000 pounds! There were also horses, dogs, goats, llamas, camels, tigers and mini horses. Of course, there was the high wire act and trapeze and all sorts of other madness! And I can't forget the clowns, even though they bore me.

We went to a local Northwoods style restaurant for dinner and I had meatloaf, mashed potatoes and cottage corn bread. I got a polar bear martini to drink. It had vanilla vodka, apple pucker and butterscotch schnapps. It sort of tasted like a caramel apple!

I hope you're not reading this if you're hungry!!

I am so full right now, I think I am going to burst at the seams!

I can't believe my three day weekend is over! Wahhhh...

Hope you had a good Sunday and didn't eat as much as I did...

I just realized that in six out of the next eight weeks I have at least one day off of work. That is awesome! This week is a full week, and I have one other (but my boss will be out of town that week)!

Oh, the joys of not having to work a five day week.

Not much going on here this morning. I have to get in the shower soon to get ready to go to the circus. Mmm, maybe I'll get some cotten candy!!

It's damn windy here today. 20-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. I guess I won't bother doing much with my hair today!

Sort of wish I could just stay home today and do nothing, but that's what I do every weekend. At least this is something different!

Have a good Sunday!!

Long Day Nov 12, 2005 8:39 pm
Mood: amused, 1152 Views
I just got home from the birthday party! It was fun because I got to see my friends and I hadn't hung out with them in a while. The kid's party portion ended around 7 and then we (the adults) played Cranium...but we never finished, that's a long game! I love board games. I'm usually pretty good at them, but I had quite a few beers and I wasn't on my game tonight!

Anyway, glad to be home.

I have to get up sort of early tomorrow (for a Sunday), because we are going to the circus tomorrow! I haven't been to the circus in about ten years. We're going to the Ringling Brothes and Barnum & Bailey Circus! On the commercials they say that everyone gets involved! What does that mean...I ain't no circus act!! haha

Hope everyone had a good day!

Birthday Party - Fantastic! Nov 12, 2005 6:57 am
Mood: cranky, 1107 Views
I am going to my friend's daughter's first birthday party today. It starts at 1pm, which seems a little early for a party to start, doesn't it?? I'm used to 2 or 3pm starts. I don't know, maybe I just resent not being able to lay around a little bit longer.

All I'm bringing with me is my present and a six pack of beer! I'll feel sort of silly walking up with my six pack, but this group of people drinks a lot and it's good to BYOB!

I think I'll go sit on the couch now until at least 11!
