I hate "forced romance" and believe that Valentine's Day constitutes forced romance. Having said that, I do participate. I usually don't spend a lot of money, but love to make a special dinner at home - both of us preparing the food together. Dessert is always chocolate, and if all goes to plan, there's another dessert afterwards

Sincerely Yours

One day of pure love per year... so sad !!!! I rather prefer to skip this February 14th and to love my mate within the 364 other days !!! My thought...

Better to have your own private, intimate day than one dictated for you.

Hate the traffic, but hubby's always loved planning something special for that day, so I've come to appreciate it, too.

I'm dyslexic. I scream Ho Dog instead of Oh God in the throes of passion.

I believe that it is a romantic day to celebrate Valentine's Day in honor of the person who started it all, and the conviction that he has that lovers should be joined in the sacraments of marriage. History tells us that Valentine's day celebration started when a priest refused to stop joining couples in marriage when Emperor Claudius ordered it because nobody is joining his army simply because they fear of leaving their loved ones behind. Oh, for someone to sacrifice even his life just to see true love triumphs is for me a day to celebrate and to actively take part in showing the people we love that we appreciate their presence in our lives. They could either be our parents, husbands, wives, friends and siblings and superiors. It is also the time to forgive those who have wronged us. We can show our love in very simple ways. We do not have to spend much. People in love are already gifts for each other. Isn't that wonderful?
