a subdued art this, escaped
from days of yore

a vacant-hooded robe, bridging
the shallow incline of the years

brave despair nestled
at its core

a faint regret
weeping willowed tears

Can't help wondering who was in the robe and why he/she left the "despair" and "regret" behind.

"shallow incline" and "brave despire" sound so charming.

I'm always surprised by your ability of putting the least possible words together and presenting the most unexpected and subtle images in front of us. (This is not a compliment. )

Vacant hooded robe?? I keep thinking of Dementors now.

Maybe a Mini-Dementor, since the despair is the brave sort.

I'm dyslexic. I scream Ho Dog instead of Oh God in the throes of passion.

I was thinking of Jawas. Then sorta got lost in the whole thing.

That Gower is really good with the words.

Cheers!

Brilliant...so full of meaning and so little words! Just a bit sad!

Wow!
You're really good!

I wish I can create
a poem like that.
Your poem inspired me to
create my silly poem to
Muse'poetic challenge and it
was a disaster.

I know! Considering he only has a wee little one, too!

But then maybe that's why he gets more blood flow upwards.

Ha ha! So can a man have ... both? As in "all that and brains too" type both?

Cheers!

Regret fades over the years, until one day you can't remember
why you feel that dull ache every time you pass a certain spot
or read a certain word.

You can take any meaning you like from it. That's the beauty of poetry.

Glad you're getting whatever you need from the blog

Thank you for the uncompliment

Put yourself in the robe and tell me what you think.

I'm sorry, this blog is a Harry Potter Free Zone.
You'll have to take your Dementors elsewhere.

That gower knew the vacant robe thing was going to be a distraction,
but did he listen to himself? No, he didn't. Just carried on regardless.

Dope.

I rather think the control works the other way.

Have a good weekend there, too.
