From my perspective

Over all attendance- B+ A few didn't come, one couple went home shortly after arriving due to illness (they hadn't eaten my chili yet so I'm innocent) But Nearly everyone I most desired to see were there

Science- B+ The table fountain I brought looked good but a couple of fountains in it didn't work and it leaked a tad on the table which I don't think was level.
My nephew's music equipment functioned great and he did a great job of selection.

Cooking- A- All of my green Chili with Pork was eaten and the pan scraped clean so it must have been well received. My first ever attempted veggie lasagna was only half gone but my Brother in law wanted to take the rest home.
The ribs were very good but I thought the turkey drumsticks were a little underdone.

Mathematics- B+ We weren't sure how many were going to be there and set up too many tables so the gathering was scattered out a little too much. There was a lot of extra food but better too much then not enough.
We finally found enough candles to place on all the tables.
Joanie and Kel were the only single women (Ari has a beau) there over 14. Kel rebuffed my advances so I had to flirt with Charlie. And he hadn't shaved.

Music- B My nephew picked a lot of good songs but I would have interlaced a few more Celtic type tunes. My fault, as he loves that kind of music but I didn't get with him before the party. The part that drops the grade down was that he played the Macerana (I hate that song) by request and YMCA by the Village People. Arrrgh!
I had requested Play Me by Neil Diamond as it was kinda Joanie's and my song from the old days. Unfortunately I felt compelled to ask her to dance which is not my strong suit. It kinda surprised her as in our 25 year marriage we had danced only once or maybe twice. (We disagree on the figure)
What's that? Oh it was unfortunate 'cause we were the only two on the floor and it made my Fonzie like dancing skills even more evident.

Citizenship A++ Everyone was beautiful and many actually wore Celtic attire.

Uhm, the host waited too long to look and couldn't find anything. He also woosed out on the opening speech he had planned but I don't take away from the grade 'cause of extra credit gained for...

Kel and Ari. I was tempted to write something snarky about them as I read some of their comments about me... (sucks rocks, indeed) but they made my weekend by being here.

Joanie's brother and sister sitting at the same table after not speaking for twenty years was heart warming.

My Sister's teen aged son and my Nieces teen aged son fascinated by the music equipment (and not playing some gory video game) and Joe teaching them how to use it was excellent.

The look on Joanie's face after the party as she thanked me (with a special thanks for not giving my speech and embarrassing her) was worth the effort alone.

Soooo things are back to dull and normal. I'm looking forward to catching up in Blogdom

Enjoy the ride. All you take with you when you leave is the experience.

the party was then in average A! Wow, what a great party and Ari was finally not falling on the river as you were afraid of

Sir_T replies on 6/23/2008 9:24 pm:
It's funny how the intangibles work. Those extra credit things I mentioned turned a good gathering into a memorable one.

We really need to get a BlogStock of some kind, some where organized. This just whet my appetite for meeting people like... oh, for example, you and your husband.

Glad to hear things went well at your party.

Life loves me.
I am living happily ever after.

Sir_T replies on 6/23/2008 9:30 pm:
The party would have been even better with a few more Friendly Finder faces here. Ya know there wasn't a single Canadian in the whole room. That's not right. I could lose my Federal subsidies for the next party.

Gotta love that celtic music, and I love celtic and medieval attire. My husband wore chainmail and a sword to our wedding.

Sanity and normalcy are over-rated

Sir_T replies on 6/23/2008 9:34 pm:
How cool is that? My Nephew was sporting a sword at the party too. I tried to find one but waited too long and ran out of time.
Have you posted any of your wedding photos? My one and only wedding was at a Justice of the Peace but if it ever happens again I woud love to do something like that.

Not all of them. Ya know there wasn't a single FF member there whose name starts with an "M"?

Getting late but I've been curious as to what you've been up to, my friend. Have to check tomorrow.

Don't pfffffffffffffftttt me youngster! I'm not skeered of you. (especially now that you're several hours away).

Hey bubba.....you can say all the snarky you want....you'd just be fibbing cause I was an angel and Kel was her usual naughty self.

I'm just gonna stand back and see which one of you wins. I know where my money is going....and I think you should just.....back down and accept the inevitable defeat. Of course....there is plenty of pleasure to be had in harassing the old bat a while.

It was so wonderful, Certs....all I wished was that I had a driver to get me home....holy crows.....

Feel the passion, walk in peace, live in love....Ari

Accept defeat?!? Please re read the motto at the top of my blog.

Actually, she's not fighting fair. She started mentioning trucks and altho I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, I know what she's saying.

So it's time to reach into my bag of tricks.

Not saying I'm unbeatable but surrender?

Never!!

Uhm... at least not yet

Happy for you James. It turned out to be an excellent party overall

And I learned how to make the next one even better. It would be nice to have some male reinforcements from FF next time.

I am happy that you pulled this event off sir
and I am sad that I could not of possibly made it.
Life as normal, is chaotic.
The lil family is still moving in and I'm still shoving stuff into the lil travel trailer and well I really have to get around to setting it up and not just storing it...
but first, I must get down south to see my sister and her family
and even farter south to see all my inlaws and friends, I've missed so
long now. I will eventually get around to traveling the entire coast
and then perhaps, I will even get around to swirling into the center states too. BUT for now, I must try to keep up with things going on here and now. Someone has to keep things running smoothly
and heck, what will my people here do without me?

My next trip is MartiGra in Feb.
I am borrowing, stealing, and saving for it
b/c I won't miss it again
not for the party
but for my kin
down that way still trying to recover from Katerina!

I am so happy you had this gathering of sorts
and I look forward to reading more about it
and even better...seeing some pics!

Peace,lisa

Make luv & war will be extinct!
Stop the hate!

Sir_T replies on 6/24/2008 8:07 pm:
Ahhh but it would be good for Lisa to get away for a bit to recharge her batteries.

As a matter of fact your name came up in the conversation at Camelot after the party. Maybe things will work out so I can go to Mardis Gras this year too. Always wante to experience it. Will you visit me if I get arrested?

I'll see what pics my sister took and post them.

Just stopping by to say hi I finally received my new computer so now I can catch up on your blog.

Sir_T replies on 6/24/2008 8:16 pm:
Hi ya kid! Ha ha You wore out your computer? I feel another blogger limerick coming on.

I have a lot of catching up to do too. Tried to do some tonight but the phone kept ringing.
The bosses decided to start at 6 am for awhile and it always takes me a couple of days to adjust. My system is in serious shock today.
Sooo sleepy.

You need to remember the promise you made at the beginning of the evening...and with the blouse I was wearing...enough said....

You are so going to lose...and I know what the trucks mean, too.....there could be one headed....south...at any time. I wish you luck....lots and lots of luck...and patience...she has the patience of a....well....she can wait a LONG time to get even.....just remember that as you reach into your bag of tricks....she could have put Fang in there to bite your finger......

I'm thinking you should remember how far she went to get her hands on....whatever she had her hands on...lol....oh dear...promise you will protect me from her revenge for that one....

Feel the passion, walk in peace, live in love....Ari

Sir_T replies on 6/25/2008 9:06 pm:
Uhm... I admit to remembering the blouse.... Hmmm now I forgot what I was gonna say....
Oh yeah.
I said I'd send her a bill and I did. After expenses, shipping and handling charges and deducting how much it meant to me for her to make the long trek to Camelot and bring a fairy with her, I figured I owed her.

You're good with numbers. I'll send you the figures.

Heh heh An immovable object versus an unstoppable force. This could be fun.

As many times in the last year that I've had my fingers bit or drilled or smashed I'm getting used to it. Fang doesn't scare me. I'll admit to being a little frightened by Kel tho.
Hide behind me. I can take her best shot.

OMG, I can't help it--I have to do the YMCA sign!!! It's like, a compulsion!!

(Glad you guys had a great time, James!)

I'm dyslexic. I scream Ho Dog instead of Oh God in the throes of passion.

Sir_T replies on 6/25/2008 9:09 pm:
Ack!! That's what they were doing on the dance floor. My own Nephew!

Sure. And now I have that darned song stuck in my head again.

Sir_T replies on 6/26/2008 7:05 pm:
Ha ha Just joking beautiful, I mean Gorgeous. No way do your photos look like a guy. In fact... hmmm I'd better shut up about that. I was hoping that the secret identity you were gonna spring on us wasn't that you were a guy posting a lovely Lady's photos. It would be embarassing to think I was admiring those legs and you were really a man

I have given a try to setting up an international blogger gathering including trying to get FF to sponser it. The biggest trouble is the distance and the cost of traveling. That's why I originally tried to organize it here to make things easier for me to set up. Still considering trying again in August or early September.

hi James..sounds like it went great.
Joans brother and sister at the same table...together after all those years?? priceless.
sounds like a perfect party...you did good Sir T!!!

once an oldhoglover, always an oldhoglover!

Sir_T replies on 6/26/2008 7:14 pm:
I hafta admit I was a little nervious about how that might play out. A guy can get in big trouble getting in the middle of a family disagreement.
Fortunately it went well.

Thanks Mark, it feels good altho without my family carrying the ball it could have been a disaster. Ha I think that's one of the reasons I don't feel just right this week. I got used to thinking about party plans and now it's just normal everyday business.

I believe so. Would have been even better with FF representation from say oh... London or Sydney.

There were even a couple of kids and my Sis had entertainment for the wee ones in case they got bored. But they didn't.

I was in Manchester. I had a wonderful time, but I missed your party!

God, I just want to pick up the phone and talk to you about it.

Sounds like it was good. Was it???? Electronic stuff is so limiting....

Love, LK

Sir_T replies on 6/26/2008 7:56 pm:
It was a lot of fun but Manchester sounds like fun too. Altho someone hasn't told us about it yet.
How was your daughter's graduation? How's your beau?
Ya know I'd still like to get a big bash going with our fellow bloggers. And maybe set up a Karaoke and or a musical jam session. If I only knew a flautist.

Manchester was wonderful. Four days on a narrowboat. I have video, including shots of Miss Nervous (a single lady wood-duck who we taught to eat bread from our hands), endless stretches of canal and the accompanying quaintness of the locks and the narrowboat community, and the Evil Swan Family, who we taught to eat bread off the edge of the boat (we wanted to keep our fingers intact). Yes, it's food for a blog, but I have other stuff to process first.

Off to Tennessee tomorrow (daughter dances). More as I can.

Love, LK
