T minus six and counting till the party.
I've been busy cleaning up Camelot so as not to embarrass myself when Kel and her mystery guests see it. I hadn't done any deep cleaning in about a month and the nearby prairie is always trying to reclaim and reshape my home. Between the dust and the weeds and the grasshoppers and the hair from my Fuzzy four leggeds it's been a chore. Nearly done with that and ready to devote my attention to the details of the party.
To tell the truth I'm a little nervous. I've had parties for this amount of people before but not since my college days. In those days all I had to do was turn the stereo up louder, send someone to the liquor store and roll the passed out drunk from last night's party off the bathtub chair. Gee I wonder why I didn't graduate or why I have limited recollection of those days?
This time I have people coming in from at least three states (depending on where Kels mystery guests are from) and there will be no alcohol at the party. Hmmm... may have to adjourn to Camelot after the festivities to celebrate in a more conventional manner.
This time there will be legitimate food, not a couple of big bags of chips and a container of cheap dip.
This time there will be dancing and no surprises finding some couple doing the horizontal mambo on my waterbed.
This time there should be no mad scramble to hide illegal substances if a police cruiser pulls up in front of the party. The only questionable green substance will be my four alarm green chili.
Enjoy the ride. All you take with you when you leave is the experience.

Funny how years go by and we find ourselves changed. James wishing yoU, Kel and the rest lots of fun
Sir_T replies on 6/18/2008 12:39 pm: Actually not so much for me. I'm kinda the human equivalent of the Rock of Gibralter. I suppose I don't party quite as hard as I did as a college student but at least now I can recall the events of last week |

My parents went to a fairly prestigeous Military party. Dad went into the bathroom, did his necessary chores, and exited. Mom went in, started to do her thing, and some half dressed young female pretty much fell out from behind the shower curtain. Of course Mom had to hassle Dad about what he was doing in there with this female.
You can never be sure about those surprises
Sanity and normalcy are over-rated
Sir_T replies on 6/18/2008 12:43 pm: Ha ha That's funny stuff kid.
Memo to me.
Check all bathroom stalls at the banquet hall for half dressed women. I kinda like that kind of surprises.

No alcohol? Like, none at all?
I'm teasing. It sounds fun, actually. But I really like chili.
Cheers!
Sir_T replies on 6/18/2008 12:47 pm: That's exactly how I felt. The darned Hall wanted a lot of extra money to hire a security guard if we were gonna have alcohol.
Fortunately the propietor of Camelot hasn't got the same rules. And we never close. So after the party.... let's party.
I make a very good Green chili. Even gave lessons once. |

I've been to several solstice gatherings over the years. But none of them served chilli
Perfection Isn't Sexy
Sir_T replies on 6/18/2008 12:55 pm: Joanie could't understand the connection but I figure nothing says summer like eye watering, tounge burning, hot chili. Besides it's my best dish.
This is my first ever Solstice affair. Looking forward to it. |

since you have been cleaning camelot how about we offer the knightly cleaning service to all for you see domestic shuffle is a chore we all do oh some love it but others well ya know--
chili you say is it healthy --are fire putter outers needed to the people who partake of the chili---oh is it vegan or is it meat thing--hmm fire putter outer needs to be taken to southern part of the state--
legal food--what in hlue blazes is this==legal food--hmmm well i will be bringing my endless supply of chocolate and peanut butter thank you very much--can not say that no alcohol bothers me but that is me--
dancing you say -you are providing live entertainment both genders i hope --oh yes i am going there with this comment can you tell

the jest of this all sir is simply this will you do the world a huge favor take a chill pill --i do not mean this in a bad way --the gathering you have planned is a wonderful testimony to love and laughter and you know some mighty powerful things have been known to occur during solstice--

peace love and laughter kel
Sir_T replies on 6/18/2008 1:14 pm: Actually it was basically one party that lasted for about two years. My marbles aren't moldy. I lost all my marbles a long time ago.
Gonna make two forms of green chili. Vegan and with pork. Both pretty zesty but being married into an Hispanic family for a quarter century taught me methods of netralizing the burn.
No no, not legal food, "legimate" food. You know, stuff that doesn't come wrapped in plastic, like in my party days. Personally, I wanted to spike the punch bowl but Joanie and my Sister nixed the idea.
No live band, but my Nephew is a wiz of a deejay. I'm not a great dancer but I'll probably give it a go.
I'm very chilled kid. When one is as cool as I am it's just a fact of life. |

Yeah right, blame it on the fuzzies
Send them over to my place, then we can dig the garden all around.
