Been a busy week and haven't had time to blog or visit. Gonna try to rectify that this weekend. hopefully. Busy making plans for The Summer Solstice party on the 21st of this month. There's going to be a Celtic/Renaissance theme and again if you have the means, inclination and time to attend you are more then welcome. I have purchased Standard Contacts so everyone should be able to write me here at FF for details.
In the meantime.... Let's do some exercises in Quantum Mechanics. The dictionary defines Quantum Mechanics as the study of mechanical systems whose dimensions are close to or below the atomic scale, such as molecules, atoms, electrons, protons and other subatomic particles. A definition I prefer is, "Quantum Physics is the physics of possibilities." Experiments show us that when the human brain is hooked up to a scanning device and the subject is shown something physical, certain areas of the brain show increased activity. But when the subject closes their eyes and imagines that physical object, the same areas of the brain react. To the brain, there is no difference between what it sees and what it remembers. This opens up a lot of interesting questions, at least to this very curious person.
First exercise. Positive thinking can tend to be just a mask for one to conceal doubt. One must strive to eliminate all doubt to achieve what they desire. Assuming you are able to sit and stand. Start this exercise by sitting. Place both feet on the floor and will yourself to stand up. What do you suppose is going to happen? You stood up right? Was this because you wished to stand or wanted to stand? No, it was because you knew you would stand. You've done it before and had no doubts you could do it again. It's all about confidence. When one wishes they could find the right job or the love of their life or anything for that matter, there is doubt. I do this as well. We are taught all our lives that there are some things we just cannot have. The truth is, You can achieve anything you know you can. Confidence is the key.
Everything we do and say is the expression of our beliefs about the world. Finding the underlying beliefs can lead to insights and understanding. As you go through the day, try to identify some of the assumptions that inform your own and others’ actions. Be sure to include people you find objectionable. Ask yourself what this person would have to believe in order to do, say, or be that way. It's kind of like walking a mile in their moccasins. Expand your inquiry to include the assumptions held by other cultures and nations. What would China, Sudan, the United States, Israel, or Palestine, for example, have to believe in order to behave the way they are behaving? Identifying Your World view to get a better picture of your own world view, try filling in the blanks of the following statements: _________created the world. I am on Earth because___________. My purpose in being here is to__________. If I succeed, _____________happens. If I fail, ____________ happens. The good and bad things that happen on Earth are the consequence(s) of__________. It is important for me to________ nature. It is important for me to_________ other people. It is important for me to_________the force that created the world.
If you are interested in Quantum Mechanics, a very interesting movie is "What the Bleep Do We Know?"
Next up, we're going to create World Peace.
Enjoy the ride. All you take with you when you leave is the experience.

My answers to this...
God, who is us, created the world. I am on Earth to learn. My purpose in being here is to experience and learn. If I succeed, I grow. If I fail, Life continues anyway. The good and bad things that happen on Earth are the consequence(s) of our thoughts. It is important for me to understand nature. It is important for me to accept and tolerate the views of other people. It is important for me to be a part the force that created the world.
Enjoy the ride. All you take with you when you leave is the experience.

Hi James. Hope you're having a great weekend. I have the day off, so me and all the old people here where I live are making vegetable soup. One woman peeled the potatoes. Her husband in his motorized scooter and oxygen gave directions. Another woman stood by watching. It is simmering on the stove now and there is enough for the whole place to have a bowl. You should come over!
Sir_T replies on 5/31/2008 8:02 pm: Keep the soup warm, I'm on my way. Been so busy this week I haven't even been able to cook anything decent and have been eating mostly canned soup. Cambells soup may be mmm mmm filling but mmm mmm good is a bit of a stretch. |

James, Hi. I know you have been busy, I'm still waiting for my mail from you. I must say, a very interesting post you put together here. Yes, I would agree with you whole heartily, you are a very curious person. *God, who is us, created the world* Then the next logical question from me would be, and whom or what created God?.. looking forward to the answer.
In quantum mechanics, reality is described by waves defining the probabilities of different outcomes from the same interactions. These waves manifest as what we have been taught to call matter, energy, particles, and or waves when observed. These probability waves overlap and continue forever. The interactions between different entities constitute a single structure of linked wave patterns, so that the whole universe can be thought of as an unbroken whole. As these waves form a matrix, all parts of the system affecting all other parts. These Non-local relationships exist between parts of the system that are distant from each other. It is impossible to distinguish two particles of the same type in a region of space in which they may be found simultaneously. Particles loose their individual identity in regions. Thus, the physical universe is fundamentally unified.
Thus, in fact, reality is described by Quantum Mechanics.

Sir_T replies on 5/31/2008 8:22 pm: Hi kid. Wrote you a couple of times this week actually. Figured you wuz busy too.
Thanks for saying curious and not strange
Ha ha I figured this post would have people removing me from their watched list. I have been skating around issues such as positive thinking lately but I was concerned this might be a bit much.
Have you ever seen that movie "What the bleep Do We Know?" The waves and particles fascinate me as does the Fundamental truth of unity.
Hmmmm and the answer is the same. We did. |

Someone or something bigger than mankind created the world. I am on Earth because I have a purpose. My purpose in being here is to help myself by helping others. If I succeed, peace happens. If I fail, evil happens. The good and bad things that happen on Earth are the consequence(s) of Karma repaying my own actions. It is important for me to respect mother nature. It is important for me to respect all other people. It is important for me to work with the force that created the world.

I'd propose chocolate for world peace, but seeing all the chocoholics in this place, I reckon we'd actually be having a knock-down, drag out fight for that last piece of Lindt.

People who practice basketball in their minds, as in hypnosis for instance, improve as much as people who do it with their physical bodies (according to some research I've read abt. hypnosis). I love quantum physics. I'm not very mathematical or scientific but everything I read about quantum physics makes me not my head in understanding and agreement.
