beauty all around,
thoughts which run through my mind are many,
i was in church today trying to understand the words being spoken by the father. i was confused in his translation because of his accent. i had two choices either i could get up and leave or try and understand what he was sharing.
my mind wander in the direction of, if i listen, i could pick up a few words and maybe understand what he is saying. the other thought i had about leaving was, its the devil not wanting me to be there listing to the word.
soon after i had that thought the projection screen came on with text so i could read along with some of what was being said. with help from my sister explaining the sermon, i was able to reflect on a few of my past thoughts. some came into clarity, others i am still waiting for them to reveal them selves.
again it hits me "in gods time" so with that i went back to seeing the beauty thats all around us. looking at it is what we do for our own happiness.
i feel like its the same with people. if we look at what they are saying or doing we can see either the beauty thats in them or the not so nice they let out in front of others.
we are what we show, i believe. some may hide behind a fake persona but in reality they are hiding from who? them selves? others?
for me, if i lie then i have lied to god. what good is in that?
sometimes i hear people say its a little white lie. is there such a thing as a little pregnant?
thinking out loud is all i`m doing this is not meant to anyone just thoughts in me.....
dan.

wow! deep and reflecting! now im thinking as well.. i would say its human nature that at times we react first before we think thus, at times we already judge or hurt someone without even had that chance to listen or to know them as a the case may be.. and admit it or not that really happens at times.. hey, great post Dan! thank you for sharing..

HIIIIIii compadre, lucky you! When i go here in Holland at church i hardly get 2 -3 words from what they spoke....i dont mind not understanding what they say...i just like getting into my deepest inside and talk with God... is important for me that HE will understand my words then me to understand what the priest is saying...But the music helps a lot. You got sweet refelctions here but mind that ""is there such a thing as a little pregnant?"" can happen..after all you have seen how God panished Tone for his greedy apetite for beer Dunno so much about God's time... i always felt like IT IS a God's time now but then i prefer the expression " In God's hands"... feel to me more ....hmmhhmm hopeful...
Have a wonderful week!

This reminds me of the students I caught cheating during the exam last week. I'm glad that my talk with them about their behavior finally brought them to tears. Those little cheaters!
Hope you are doing fine, Dan!

When I was still a Mass-goer, I asked the priest why there was so much 'call and repeat' in the service and what purpose it served. He said that Christianity was a mixture of eastern and western traditions, and that this part of the service was a form of mantra. The importance was not so much in the words, as in the opportunity to reflect and think. There is a similar principle behind the rosary. They are basically prayer-beads, and the repetition of the prayers brings about a meditative state. I remember my grandmother saying the rosary for hours, and I could never see the point in repeating the same prayers over and over. Now I realise that she wasn't really praying as such, but meditating.
The result of the act is sometimes more important than the act itself.
Un abrazo, hermanito.

hermano amen , i have heard other fathers giving sermons and what they say or share sometimes affirms what i believe.
sometimes it opens room for a deeper understanding. i admit when they start talking about what they believe i have reservations.
if its not in the bible and they don't have scripture i might listen but i want to make up my own mind.
thank you mano for sharing thoughts with me.
god bless you and all your loved ones peace love happiness abrazo

meditating,.... yes i like that
but meditating. The result of the act is sometimes more important than the act itself

Hi Dan
Reading your post, pictures of the past went through my mind. Years ago, when I tried to attend a service here, I had real difficulties understanding what the pastor was saying. So I just waited patiently until he was finish and everyone started to sing.
Nowadays, I just meditate at home when I wake up and just before I go to sleep. In my mind I feel that God is everywhere, and I do not 'have to' go to the 'house of God'.
Bless you dear
It's nice to be insane when No one is looking

hi renee
yes i know what you mean, i say my prayers where ever i am too, but i go to church because i love to see families and different ages of people sharing in worship for our father.
it reminds me of when i was young, my father would take me and my sisters to church on sunday even if he was hung over or feeling sick.
the beautifulest sound is the choir singing especially gifted young adults . that makes me smile the most
god bless you dear renee thank you for visiting with me peace love happiness hugs
