New job????

Hmmm, just gotta love it when you start hunting for work.

Then you get a tentative offer that sounds good, you do the medical etc, but no more contact.

Then from left of field comes a great job offer, good money, company car of your choice, mobile phone paid for, land line paid for, internet access paid for.

Sound brilliant doesn't it?

So like anyone I accept the role and ring the other prospect to say I had a better job and as they hadn't contacted me again, had accepted the other offer.

Two days pass and then comes the follow up phone call about details of the job...

What they hadn't told me was that it was up to me to buy the car, the mobile, the laptop, the satellite phone etc etc.

Now ordinarily this would be easy, however they forgot that

I AM UNEMPLOYED AND HAVE BEEN FOR SEVEN WEEKS!

Also I have spent almost $10 thousand dollars buying my van and getting it set up.

Doesn't do much for your savings.

Then they tell me that I don't start until December the first, so my first pay would be on the first of January 2008!!!!!!

So it looks like I will be looking for a part time temporary job to survive until January...

Joy oh joy

But the job will be everything I love in a job, so I will survive.

I need to lose weight anyway, and eating just takes up time.

All too true.

Summers spent hunting for work in Spain
teaches you that. Thankfully, bread and
wine were fairly cheap at the time.
