A Lovers Longing Feb 11, 2007 11:42 am
Mood: naughty, 1240 Views
Blindly reaching out for something that exists
In a place, private, hidden
Two worlds, two souls
A chasm deep and wide, daunting, perilous
Dividing their love and longing.
Secret messages sent on doves wings
Reach the hand and heart.
Grasping onto a memory not written
Tears fall into the void.
His love whispered in a melody
Only her ear can hear.
Her finger tips, touch subtle lips
That have never been kissed by his.
As fire scorches her flesh,
Everywhere his words have promised to trace.
She anticipates his scent, his touch, his sweet taste, which intoxicates.
His essence, imprinted on her soul
Like a brand.
Over the edge, she weeps.
To fill the chasm that keeps them apart.

“As the credits roll and the curtain closes, she pulls herself together and exits the theater just another voyeur”

Answer to the brain teaser Feb 9, 2007 7:43 pm

Well, I know a number of people looked at the brain teaser blog I posted.

“This is an unusual paragraph. I’m curious how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it. It looks so plain you would think nothing is wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is unusual though. Study it, and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out. Try to do so without any hints!”

Some have said that yes, they had figured it out. Good for all of you! For those who were waiting for the answer here it is: The thing that makes the paragraph unusual is that the letter “e” is never used.

For the record I did not get the answer myself. My 15 year old daughter had to tell me the answer. Thanks to all that gave the teaser a try!

One Crafty Mother!!! Feb 4, 2007 10:36 am

Brian invited his mother over for dinner.
During the course of the meal, Brian's mother couldn't help but keep
noticing how beautiful Brian's roommate, Stephanie, was.

Brian's Mom had long been suspicious of a relationship between Brian and
Stephanie, and this had only made her more curious.
Over the course of the evening, while watching the two react, she started to wonder if there was more between Brian and Stephanie than met the eye.
Reading his mom's thoughts, Brian volunteered, "I know what you must be
thinking, but I assure you Stephanie and I are just roommates."

About a week later, Stephanie came to Brian saying, "Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the beautiful silver gravy ladle. You don't suppose she took it, do you?" Brian said, "Well, I
doubt it, but I'll send her an e-mail just to be sure". So he sat down and wrote:

"Dear Mom: I'm not saying that you "did" take the gravy ladle from
the house; I'm not saying that you "did not" take the gravy ladle. But the fact remains that one has been missing ever since you were here for dinner. Love, Brian".

Several days later, Brian received an email back from his mother that read:

"Dear Son: I'm not saying that you "do" sleep with Stephanie; I'm not saying that you "do not" sleep with Stephanie. But the fact remains
that if Stephanie is sleeping in her own bed, she would have found the gravy ladle by now. Love, Mom."

Use caution when nude driving!!!!!! Feb 4, 2007 10:34 am

A man is driving along the motorway with his wife in the passenger seat. During the drive, the wife gets an idea. She starts taking off her clothing piece by piece and tossing them out the window.

The guy is shocked but aroused. She gets her shoes, socks, etc. and chucks them out. Finally, she whips her underwear off and throws it all out onto the motorway. The guy is laughing and leering at her. He looses control of the car in the process and crashes into a barrier at the side.

Unfortunately, the air-bag doesn't go off on his side, and he finds himself wedged in under the steering wheel. "Help, go get help......aggghhhh, I'm stuck", he shouts.

"But I have no clothes on. What'll I do ?", she screams.

"Here", he says wiggling his foot, "Take my shoe and put it over your crotch. It'll have to do, love. Quick, hurry!"

She takes the shoe off his foot and places it over her crotch and gets out of the car, limping and shouting for help. After a few hundred yards of yelling and running a trucker notices this naked hysterical woman holding a shoe over her crotch, and pulls over.

"What's seems to be the trouble?", he asks.

"Help me", she screams, "My husband is stuck".

"If he's stuck up that far I'm afraid I can't help you."

A six-year-old boy told his father he wanted to marry the little girl across the street. The father hid his smile behind his hand.

“That’s a serious step,” he said. “Have you thought it out completely?”

“Yes,” his young son answered. “We can spend one week in my room and the next in hers. It’s right across the street, so I can run home if I get scared of the dark.”

“How about transportation?” the father asked.

“I have my wagon, and we both have our tricycles.” The little boy answered.

The boy had an answer to every question the father raised. Finally, in exasperation, his dad asked, “What about babies? When you’re married, you’re liable to have babies, you know.”

“We’ve thought about that, too,” the little boy replied. “We’re not going to have babies. Every time she lays an egg, I’m going to step on it!”

New hair do....new attitude! Feb 3, 2007 8:26 am

Man I feel like a woman! Shania's words not mine, but I appreciate the feeling behind the song. When I posted the fact that I was getting a new hair cut there was a little more behind the post than I let on. I mentioned the whole idea of feeling old.....I have always wanted to resist getting older, in fact I had quit celebrating my birthday after my 29th year. The reality is you get older whether you like it or not, and my friend Oneman made a lovely comment about aging gracefully!..

Well here is my new do, and I love it!

Does a new hair cut change who I am inside? Nope
Does the fact that I am going silver haired, change who I am inside? Nope

I am just getting used to the idea that my silver hair, and wrinkles all have a story to tell. And, I am going to let them tell the story, because I have seen the manuscript and it is an amazing tale.....indeed!

Embracing the tick tocking of my time line!

I love being a mother Feb 2, 2007 8:04 pm

Just when you think that your children can not surprise you, they do or say something that completely takes your breath away. Today I sat in my office doing some book work when my oldest child, 17 year old Josh, calls to ask if he can stay in town after school to hang out with his buddies. It was not the question that surprised me; it was the statement he made when I answered the phone. I picked up and answered with my usual business greeting, and this young man’s voice says… “Hello beautiful! How are you doing?” I did not recognize Josh’s voice right away, and I answered politely, thinking it was one of our silly neighbor friends. Then Josh asked if he could stay in town after school. A smile spread across my face, realizing that he called me beautiful! What is more, it was sincere.

What a wonderful gift, to have a child bless you with compliments you just never expect from them. As I ponder this moment of my day, my heart is full to the brim with love for this child….and his siblings….each one of them give me more in a hug or sweet spoken word than they could ever know. I am so very blessed to be their mother……
