I took tomorrow off so I can deal with a number of problems that have come up. Let's see....I need to remove all my primary exterior locks and have them re-keyed while I am in Pocatello Saturday. It turns out that when Mer returned my house key....it wasn't really my house key. That really torqued me off since it cost me so much to have all the locks keyed to a single key in the first place....and now I get to do it again. It torques me off more that he lied to me...and that he kept my house key. I will be correcting that little problem this weekend.
I came home tonight to find that the bird from hell had gone on a destructive rampage. She does that when the house gets too quiet for her. She destroyed a Boston Fern....nipping off nearly every single frond in at least two places...and then ate the door jamb behind it....leaving chunks of wood laying in the plant pot. Good thing I planned to remove that door jamb....but I can't do it right now cause I'd have to be ready to take the tile out on that landing.
I thought about fricasseeing her for dinner...but I wasn't that hungry...yet. My sis is coming over tomorrow....and the plan is to trap her in her cage. I can't really be mad at her....I knew that when birds get bored and lonely....and no one is home with her all day long anymore...they wander...and get into trouble. It isn't that she planned to be destructive...it's just the end result of her birdy explorations. So now....I'm going to end her birdy explorations.
The cat and dog seem to need continual reassurance. The cat curls up as tight as he can get to my head....and expects to be scratched all night. The dog climbs on my chest...mountain climber that he is....and wants to be petted all night. I think I'll move into the guest room and let them have the bed. Which reminds me that I need to get the mattress off my bed so they can put the new one on it. I'm not sure how I'll get it down the stairs...but where there's a will...there's a way.
I also need to install the housings for the recessed lights I bought for the front porch...it looks fairly simple when I read the book....and I can't put the lights up until the wood is up...or the wood up until the housings are up...and then I want to prime the wood for the soffit if the weather is warm enough...and mow the lawn. Ick. I think I need a long nap first...holy crows...a day from hell. We'll see how much of it I actually accomplish.
I think that the idea behind taking the day off was to reward myself for the audit....but it's beginning to not feel much like a reward. I guess the reward was that I actually relaxed enough to watch two episodes of Monk tonight. I haven't done that in months.
So....if y'all don't see me for a year or two....it must have taken a lot longer than I estimated. I always did bite off more than I could chew.
Feel the passion, walk in peace, live in love....Ari

I'm going to remember that next time the hare attacks my garden, I will keep repeating the mantra: "It isn't that he planned to be destructive...it's just the end result of her harey (or hairy?) explorations"

You are an incredibly ambitious lady. That sounds like a LOT of work, and I hope you have at least some help on it. Did you get your bathroom sink yet? Love that color
Good luck and give yourself a break occasionally...watch more episodes of Monk, and take time to smell the flowers
Love and Hugs to you

BUt just think when you have finally got it all done you won't have to do it again. Now I don't know anything about dealing with birds but could you call your own phone and leave a message every now and then that the bird could hear the sound of your voice?

Wonder about the birdie Ari, can you leave a radio station playing so that she can hear voices. Just a thought, our Chihuahua would go berserk, funny thing with a 2.5 pound dog, but when I leave music play she does much better.
Erm...as for all the rest,...do what you can....make the locks your priority, the rest can come as you get to it. Please don't over do, that is how you get hurt, or ill.
Have a beautiful weekend MzFairyFriend
