in what goes around comes around?
You do/say bad things and bad will happen in return.
You do/say good things and good will happen to in return.
Karma....do you believe?

I believe totally in karma. I think that what we put out into the universe...is what we draw back to us. I think it is as much from thoughts, lies, nastiness....as from hurting one another. Funny though...I often see blogs here that impute cruelty on the part of others when everything we think we understood....was only our own interpretation. Is there karmic retribution for one person's....fevered imaginings....or is it only based on when we have actually done something to harm another? Personally....I believe in the latter. I can't be responsible for how someone else views my thoughts....but only for how I intended them to be taken.
I hope that was logical...I think I got rather circular in there.
Feel the passion, walk in peace, live in love....Ari

Yep.
I'm still trying to figure out what the heck I did in my last life that got me born this short, and with this schnoz.
I'm dyslexic. I scream Ho Dog instead of Oh God in the throes of passion.

Problem Karma, I trust, ugly or good action both of the same is owning effect. Our If us often do deed of goodness, life we will tend to goodness. And if us do often do ugly deed, our life tend to uglyly.

Hi Ari thank you for your input, made total sense to me. I think that if someone takes what we say out of context, well our intent wasn't to harm so why would we receive BAD KARMA? When we lay words out there we are the only one who truly knows our intent. We have no control over how others take it.

Hi ST. I agree that the same things don't always happen in return, but I do believe 'something' happens to those who are deserving...either good or bad.

Good things come in small packages they say. But then again so does dynamite.
I have been shorter then most my whole life, it doesn't bother me anymore. My son just passed me on the height things, he looks down and says 'Hi shorty'.

Quoting gowerboy: So when bad things happen to good people, where's the karma?
Thanks Gower for asking hard questions first thing in the morning.
Maybe because good people haven't always been good and it is payback from the past?
Or maybe because we have to go through challenges to teach us things to strengthen us up?
*hold head and thinks....oh no I broke my brain and the day has just began*

So karma makes the rules up as it goes along?

Sorry for getting all Russellish on you, but who are we to assess whether people are good or bad? And based on this we can therefore safely assume that those that are punished are bad and those that live a good life are good.
Medieval torturers followed the same philosophy.. burn somebody's hand with an iron and if it heals properly they are innocent and if it doesn't they are guilty. They may not have stolen the apple in question but they must have done something wrong in the past. And who's to argue with logic like that?
Certainly not the church. Copernicus was wrong to begin with and only when the Pope arranged to have the heavens re-arranged did the Church grandly admit that Copernicus was now right... having previously been wrong. Proving that Orwell after all was said and done, was nothing more than a plagiarist.

I think it is a good moral philosophy but not actually the way that life operates. Good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people all the time. This is the reality of our existence. All the rest is mystical wishful thinking.
