..Killer heat wave shows no signs of abating in country
Over the past few days, the heat wave has claimed over 600 lives ( official figures is 360 lives) across the country
MERCURY assumed its form in North India with temperatures touching 44.5 Celsius in the Capital on Sunday, about 5 C higher than the normal, while the minimum temperature remained at 27.5 C. According to the India Meteorological Department ( IMD), Delhi's temperature would increase and hover around 45 C for the next six days.

The skies would remain clear and the minimum temperatures would remain between 27 C and 30 C. Dust and thunderstorms could occur from the evening in some areas.

The heat wave gripped Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Bihar and Chhattisgarh. Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions prevailed at several places over, Vidarbha, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The highest maximum temperature was recorded at 47.3 C in Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh. The IMDs satellite imagery showed accumulation of clouds over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.

The cloud formation was due to Western Disturbances over Rajasthan and adjoining areas of Punjab and Haryana.

The Met Office has warned of duststorms and thunderstorms with squalls at isolated places in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

"The heat wave to severe heat wave would prevail in the North and North West India. Thunderstorms are also expected at some of these paces," head of the IMDs forecast division, B. P. Yadav, said.

The intense heat wave in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana since yesterday, raising to 342 the death toll in the blistering weather conditions which continued in many parts of the country on Sunday. Sporadic incidents of deaths due to heatstroke were reported from other states as well. The monsoon was showing good advances with the conditions being favourable for its further advance into southern parts of southeast Arabian Sea, Maldives, Comorin area and some more parts of south and central Bay of Bengal during the next three days. According to weather officials, the south- west monsoon is likely to set over Kerala on May 30. During the last few days, increased rainfall has been noticed on the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea.

Eden. yes. the heat wave is too much in Delhi and in North India and yesterday Delhi temperature was 46.5 at Palam.

one must take maximum liquid to avoid dehyderation.
