Springboks win Pool B stage while Proteas prove pedigree at India...

NELSON MANDELA AWARDED HALL OF FAME CAP

Victory shines down on our Springboks....SOUTH AFRICA ensured they would be in the quarter finals of the 2015 Rugby World Cup , after their pool B match against Scotland ended in a 34 - 16 victory yesterday

The win, which put us top of the table, was the cherry on top of what had already been a special day for South Africa after World Rugby announced that former South African President, NELSON MANDELA, had been posthumously inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame.

The special ceremony took place before the Springboks match against Scotland. World Rugby Chairman presented the Coveted Hall of Fame Cap to Francois Pienaar, Captain of the Springbok Team that won Rugby World Cup 1995 on home soil.
The World Rugby Hall of Fame recognises those who have made an indelible mark in Rugby ...truly an inspiration to the game.

Nelson Mandela was instrumental in turning Rugby World Cup 1995 into a momentous occasion that united the South African Nation through the power of sport. Now 20 years on from that historic tournament ...former President was awarded a fitting tribute ..a man who did so much for his country and sport..

Standing ovation to Late Nelson Mandela during the Rugby World Cup

"Madiba was a man of vision, determination and integrity who performed a miracle that amazed the world as much as it amazed his fellow countrymen. His name will rank among the greatest humanitarians and this induction reflects Rugby's ever - lasting friendship and appreciation for a great man"

The emphatic 34 - 16 win takes the Boks to the Top of Pool B

The memory of our first loss to Japan was a catalyst for better performance..hence..the fight and drive to win at all odds ..

Yesterdays victory was also watched by the PROTEAS TEAM all the way to CUTTACK. The cricketers found a projector and huddled as a squad to lend support....tweeting :
"PROTEAS getting behind the Springboks all the way in Cuttack , India..
All the best !!"
Proteas further making victory in Cricket at india....Farhaan Behardien and Jean - Paul Duminy celebrated their teams victory over india after the first T20 clash in the northern Indian Hill Town of Dharamsala on Friday...

When the Proteas batting unit does click, as they brutally did in the T20 International Series opener ,,,,,,,,it is a tough act to live with
Haslim Amla and AB de Villiers play a potent good cop/bad cop combo upfront , and if they get beyond the powerplay, they set the game for the finishers...

This is to my India friends :

"When we get hit, we want to land a counter punch...and we are always focussing on wining......the counter punch they landed on Friday landed flush, and, if they didn't know it already, reminded India that the next two months will be a proper ding-dong affair,,,,

Round one South Africa.
