An astute Man who needs a standing ovation ..............

RIP..........CLIVE RICE
Former South African Cricket Captain

Cricket lost a great role model and South African legend.

He died in Cape Town Hospital after suffering a brain tumour...at the age of 66 years old.
In March this year, he had travelled to India for treatment in Bangalore.

Cricket South Africa Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat paid tribute to Rice :

"Clive was our first captain, and we knew him to be a great fighter. Clive will always be remembered for the captaining the PROTEAS, on our holistic first tour of India in 1991, as one of the allrounders and captain of the game"

One of our SA's best ever cricketers
"Major allrounder, 25,000 runs, 900 wickets, led Notts to 2 championships and South African in first post - apartheid internationals"
His career coincides directly with South Africa's sporting isolation.

Clive Rice "Ricey" astute Captain and a man that played the game hard!!
# RIP
