Misao Okasa, the oldest surviving person of the world dies at 117 in Japan.


Misao Okasa, whom the Guinness Book of world Records recognised as the oldest living person in the world in the year 2013; died nearly a month after she celebrated her last birth day when she said that her life seemed too short. She was born in Okasa, Japan on March 5, 1898, married to Yukio in 1919, who died in 1930. She is survived by two daughters, a , 4 grands and 6 great grands.
May her soul rest in peace. Condolences to the bereaved family.

If it is not out of context, it is important to note that Japan is a home for most centanarians in the world, with more than 58,000 of which majority are women. Low fat diet that is traditional , affordable health care and pension are key factors which help this longevity.
