Are Indians tough to work with on Indian soil, despite being rated best in overseas? Corporate Dossier has some comments of expatriate CEOs compiled on the work culture of Indians. Here are few adverse remarks they made against Indians, terming that they are tough to work with on Indian soil. * Indians turn up late * They are argumentative * They are confusingly diverse * They need too many people to do a single job * They are too emotional * They do not trust easily * They escalate decisions * They are hierarchical * They are lousy with work-life balance. * They do not follow due process * They are stunt men * They say what we want to hear * They do everything at the last minute But Indians are rated as the best to woth with on foreign soil. Westerners have hire & fire system. You don't perform > you don't get paid > worst you could loose your job and someone else deserving gets it. An Indian in a foreign country cannot afford to loose a job, hence they comply to all rules & regulations. Contrarily, moment an Indian gets permanent with an Indian company. Strong labor law and labor unions protect him. He is in a more comfortable position and then he begins to take advantage of the system. An Indian Company needs a real provable strong reason to put him out of job, which seems next to impossible. But employment policies are changing in India bit by bit >> and hopely we will see that change. .
