Pakistan to have 200 nuclear weapons by 2020 : US think tank.

A report on the Strategic Stability in Second Nuclear Age authored by Gregory Koblentz of George Mason University of US says that though many states are down sizing their nuclear stock piles; Asia is witnessing a build up, with Pakistan having the fastest growing nuclear programme in the world. The report further says that it could have stock piles of fissile material that, if weaponized could produce as many as 200 nuclear devices. While India has just enough fissile material to make 90 to 110 nuclear weapons; China has it for 250 nuclear weapons and Pakistan about 100-120 war heads. It is said that Pakistan is spending US$ 2.5 billion annually on this and has a stock pile of 2,750 kgs of weapon grade uranium and 150 kgs of plutonium. .

But the data is otherwise with US and Russia that have that have 7,000 to 8,000 war heads each; with both possessing 93% of the global number of nuclear war heads as per Stolkhom based International Peace Research Institute. It further says that entire world has 16,300 war heads, of which 4,000 are operational. France, UK, Israel and North Korea have 300, 225, 80 and 6-8 respectively.

Is it a necessary evil to save the nation or a deviated destructive mind?
