JAIHO INDIA-MANGALYAAN MADE IT TO MARS-MARS ORBITER MISSION (MOM).ANOTHER FEATHER IN CAP

Yet another feather in the cap of India's Space Research Organisation with it's "MANGALYAAN), the MARS ORBITER MISSION (MOM) is close to the finishing line of making it Mars, the red planet. If it succeeds, India would be the only country in the world to have achieved this feat in it's maiden effort. This historic voyage to put India in the elite list of nations which sent missions to Mars, is said to be the least expensive with Rs 450 crores ($67 million) spent on it, which comes to Rs 4 per hour. So far only 21 countries made successful missions to Mars out of 51 efforts made. It was launched on November 05, 2013 and entered orbit around Mars few minutes before on September 24, 2014.
All eyes now on it's total success, if it does it would be the first in Asia; with Japan and China are also in the race.

CONGRATULATIONS INDIA : WELL DONE INDIA It successfully entered the Mars Orbit.

Rest later.

* It is a technology demonstration project.
* The most recent failures of such missions was that of China's Yinghuo-1 in 2011. Japan too failed earlier.
* The first successful missions was by USA's Mariner in 1971.
* NASA' s Curiosity was the first to tweet as "NAMASTE, congratulations ISRO.
* PM Modi who was present personally to watch the mission's success said MOM (mother) never fails nor disappoints; while he congratulated every one concerned. He said this totally indigenous MOM is cheaper that producing a Hollywood movie like Gravity.
