9/11 : Then in US in 2001 and today, the day of verdict in Oscar Pistorius case in South Africa.

Ever since, the 9/11 episode of 2001 that saw terrorist attacks, four in succession in US which took a heavy human toll of 3000 people and destruction of property to the tune of $10 billion; this day of September is one who can never keep off from their memory. This year 9/11 is keenly looked out for more than one reasons, but it is important for South Africa from where we have two active bloggers who post and comment viz. Goldmedal (Ms Cilla Naidoo) and Sakina; as the trial court Judge Thokozile Mapisa starts delivering her judgement in Pretoria High Court in the most sensational case of Oscar Pistorius, the double amputee athletic, whom Times magazine chosen as one of the 100 persons for 'the definition of global inspiration' in the year 2012 when he reached the semi-finals of 400 mts athletics in London Olympics. With the arguments over in this case in which Pistorius is accused of shooting down to death of her girl friend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine Day ie February 2013, Judge Mapisa, the seemingly impervious to the global interest in to this case that saw a parallel to the murder trial of US foot ball star O J Simpson in California in 1995. Judge Mapisa is the most sought after. With the delivery of final judgement is likely to dran on to tomorrow, the Friday September 12, 2014; here are the essential inconsistencies, the Judge will have had to evaluate before reaching her verdict.

* When did they both last eat?
* When did the pair go to bed?
* Who was awake - and when?
* What about the fans in the balcony?
* And the blue LED light on the stereo?
* Why was Reeva's jeans on the floor and inside out?
* Was there a noise from the bathroom? And who could have made it?
* Did the toilet door slam shut?
* Why he didn't check on Reeva?
* Why did Pistorius approach 'the intruder'?
* Did he mean to fire the gun?
* Did he know Reeva was in the toilet?
* Did Reeva cry out?
* Did Pistorius scream?
* Why he didn't look for Reeva any where in the room?
* What about the cricket bat?
* And the blood and the duvet?

While the defense of Pistorius has implausible parts; the prosecution case solely rests on circumstantial evidence. We will soon find out which side of the chasmic divide Judge Masipa has found the most persuasive , when she announces her verdict tomorrow.
