Third Destination Meherangarh Fort -Jodhpur Rajasthan INDIA

Welcome my Friends to India. Our third Destination is the Jodhpur in State of Rajasthan. We will visit the famous Fort at Jodhpur named MEHERANGARH FORT.

We have landed at New Delhi and under the hospitality of Sunny the Bunnywe have relaxed at Delhi. In the morning we have taken a short flight to the city of Jodhpur and have parked our self in the famous Majestic Taj Umaid Hotel. This used to be the Palace of Maharajah of Jodhpur and a picture of the model is shown. The right hand side half is now Taj Umaid Hotel while the left half is still the residential palace of His Highness Maharaja Gaj Singh II of Marwar - Jodhpur. The palace houses a wonderful museum and a collection of Vintage Cars. We will have to be careful with our vintages should the Maharaja likes one, no one can stop him from offering a price that you can not refuse.

Have your welcome drink, relax for a while, wear your light casual wear, good light weight shoes and here we go along the winding roads to the Meherangarh Fort.

This is the breath taking panoramic view of the Fort .

The fort is situated 120 metres (400 ft) above the city and is enclosed by imposing thick walls. Inside its boundaries there are several palaces known for their intricate carvings and expansive courtyards. A winding road leads to and from the city below. The imprints of cannonball hits by attacking armies of Jaipur can still be seen on the second gate.

Take a look at the High Walls that protect the Fort

The High Structures inside the Fort. Awesome

The darbar room is decorated with intricate pure gold inlays. Here are two pictures of the interior and the rood with Gold inlays.

.

The Fort has many palaces which have awesome intricate carvings in sand stone. Take a look.

Wow. Isn't it ? Friends enjoy your excursion. Evening we have a Royal Dinner at the Hotel and tomorrow we are going in the Rajasthan desert for a Camel ride.
