Yesterday I gave a polite negative response to a guy explaining that there was no compatibility between our profiles. Today he wrote to me that my English was lousy because I had addressed him with "hallo" instead of "hello". LOL !!!

Is there any difference between "hello" and "hallo", my native English buddies, because my only guides are the dictionaries....

Aaaah, as I have already said, you'll get to know a person better when he's hurt than when he's loved...

I had my second swim today, and this refreshed me more than coffee or sleep ! The water is still coldish, but when your skin is heated up in an air of 28*C/80+*F, it simply sizzles in the coolness of the sea. Yammi!

Have a nice rest of the week !

Love,
SL

Hm, wonder what he'd think if you'd used "Hullo". I once got yelled at on ff email by a man I turned down politely when I said I was already married (it's practically a blaring headline on my profile but for some reason, he missed it) and he went, "SO WHY THE HELL ARE YOU ON A DATING SITE????"

Men are just weird sometimes, I tell you.

Hugs, SL.

I'm dyslexic. I scream Ho Dog instead of Oh God in the throes of passion.

Well, all I can say is that you made the right choice--anyone who gets angry because you've politely said, no thank you isn't worth the time/effort. And his response demonstrates it.

According to my etymology dictionary hello is an alternate form of hallo... Hello became popular with the advent of the telephone.

So there! That'll learn him...heheheheee

Wishing you happiness

hello SL,

you should have addressed him with "HILO" (means dazed in our native tongue)

However, it is better used as "Ano ka, HILO?" (what are you, dazed?)

Hi SL

You are so right when you say that one gets to know a person best when we say 'no thanks'. Have seen that myself, and was glad that I said no.

The difference between Hallo and Hell o ... I personally do not like Hell ... o .... and often use Hallo (the European way) or Hi (the American way) and if he told you off because you said Hallo ... it just shows what kind of character he has = no sense of humour, living in a box >>>> good riddens to him

Aaah, summer, I live for it !
When we are scantily dressed at home and out, so no need to change... When the light fades away at 9.30 p.m. and there is no difference between the day and the night because the streets are equally crammed with people...

Aham, didn't this sound as an advert for beer ?

I do have copies of the pictures you posted up before, one with you in the swim suit, but that was then and this is now. You looked nice then and I'll bet you look just as beautiful, if not MORE beautiful now!

Life in Florida is hot, oh yes! Plenty of THAT here! I used to swim alot, but there's no one to go with anymore, so I wait...I did get an Intermediate award when I was 15 in camp, so swimming is easy for me, and I love it anywhere, I just wish I had a partner/partners to be with me...

The new job is great! It is much better than I thought it would be, and I am getting a decent wage again! Everything is coming together again, and I am happy for it. I am ever so grateful to God for providing it for me! Praise The Lord In Heaven Above!
