Summers Last Blush

8/30/2009 3:54 pm
summer is having its last blush
rosey skies at dusk hinting
at tomorrows promise of
sun~kissed skies, soft luminous clouds
and gentle caressing breeze
there is an energy in the air
unseen yet palpable
shadows changing as the earth turns
ever so slightly on its continuous journey
nights becoming cooler
daylight losing ground to darkness
'a purpose to every season'
perhaps just being alive
to experience all of this magnificence
is purpose enough..

And soon will come a day when we will wish for green grass on which to lay, so we can stretch out a blanket and watch the stars and moon of summer again.

minus the bugs of course ..lol

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart

yes, minus the bugs! Living in VT, you probably are getting some cooler nights and "that feeling" in the air - the promise that it's just around the corner! The biting cold filling your lungs so harshly that you have to duck into an alley just to escape the wind whipping in your face. (I was in Portland Maine one weekend in January!) Let's enjoy summer's last blush each moment we can!

Minus the bugs Donna I must confess, as I get older, as much as I
love the 4 seasons we have here in New England..it's the minus degree temperatures and big snowstorms that I'm beginning to dislike..maybe because there seems to be alot more of both these past few winters. I've wanted to tell you, but keep forgetting..I have been to Bridgeport, CT., my ex~fiancees parents live there..I wish I knew you thenYes, lets enjoy summers blush

Hi Nancy

Is your summer already over?

Thought it just began?

And then it's time to think of Christmas shopping again ....

Lovely poem

I need to find a rich woman from Australia so I could live in an endless summer. Six months here and six months there.

Lovely poem Nancy.

amazinggrace...

If a poem is a vehicle to convey feelings, then I feel I felt every one of them, completely.
Thank you, amazinggrace. *smiling very warmly*
