China is a very large and strong country. Many disasters in my country too. Hurricanes were devasting in 21st century. Earth quakes were devasting in 20th century. Many tornados this year. It never hurts to pray.

A HALF CENTURY of history. 50th BIRTHDAY on NOVEMBER 24!!

I know that China will adjust and grow stronger, but my sympathies are with the families who have lost relatives in the disaster.

You asked for help on writing in English, I'll rephrase your blog as I'd write it.

There was a severe earthquake in my country on May twelfth.
So far no errors except that a sentence should always start with a capital letter
I am deeply saddened.
Punctuation (period, comma, etc. is always followed by a space except if above the line - "I'll") my Chinese friend used to do the same thing
We will be observing a period of silence in three days time, for the people who died in the earthquake.
a couple of points, silent is an adjective, and "who were dead" the verb "to be" is very tricky even in the past tense.
I believe that "a person born in disaster, will die in happiness". So it is with a country!
or
I believe that a person that was born in disaster, will die happily.
There have been so many disasters in my country this year.

For Americans, there's another one to come in November
However, I'm sure my country will be stronger after this.

My English is poor, I would appreciate your advice.

Actually your English is very good, it just takes practice, if my Cantonese/Mandarin was half as good as your English, I'd be very proud of it!

Oops, I thought Mandarin was one of the 2 official languages in China, please forgive my ignorance. It shows how little Chinese I know, if I can't even name the language!
