Ladies.......do you?

To all the ladies out there in blogland, do you trim your eyebrows? Well if you do, stop it!! A little trimming is ok, heck, even I trim here and there to look better but I've seen some women go to the extreme and it doesn't look good.

I'll tell you a little secret, most men aren't that picky. There's no need to augment your breasts, stain your teeth white, wear fake nails and worse yet, your toenails. A little enhancement is fine, like changing your hair color or getting a make over, but.............lets draw the line at enhancement not changing what Mother Nature gave you.

I can't speak for most men but guys love women the way they are naturally. Oh sure, there's always gonna be some guy say "I like fake boobs."

It used to be that if a man wanted a woman he had to better himself to gain her respect and attention. I question the segment of our society that pushes these physical requirements on women. Some of the most attractive women are completely natural.

Men, don't you think love and romance should be more about compatibility and communication than looks?

I only pluck my eyebrows if I'm going out, but I do prefer it when they are plucked, I'm just too lazy to do it regularly.

Treat me with respect and I'll treat you the same

communication? You mean when your in a relationship your expected to communicate? lol

Theres just too many rules to this dating game! Fake Boobs (sounds painful) and self reinventions.

I keep it simple. This is me, if you don't like what you see, NEXT. I have absolutely no time for any man who feels, I should change how I look for them. If thats the case, leave me alone, and find what you want.

Of course love should be based solely on compatibility and communication.

I have mine waxed, but not to the point that they look bad.

I agree 100% Bill. Too much make up, hair spray and glitz is always a turn off for me. The worst are the fake nails, way too long and decorated with tacky embellishments. I want a woman who can scratch a back in a moment of passion without leaving me with permanent scars.

Btw I think alot of these phony glamor girls are really more interested in impressing other women rather than men. Though some certainly use breast enlargement and other artificial enhancements as part of their strategy for finding a man, preferably one with a big enough bank account to match her fake boobs..

Personally, I am glad to have found a wife who is "all natural". But even in my single days I did my best to keep the superficial gold-diggers far away. Driving an older model Toyota seemed to do the trick.

My old Toyota was a Corolla. So definitely no "tough as nails" appeal there.

Chris

you made a good statement here.
I do belive that most women who does extreme trys to impress the other women or be "above"..It's a way to get out of "crowd" ,lets say.
The " glamour girls " are driving in fashion by stylist and people with interest of seling things...As woman you get crazy when is about choosing products.
A make up is like a lil tease when is good made but fake breats and other surgeries ......someone must be really nuts or disperate to want it....

But ok mass media rules our lives ,so to say ,women will choose acording with what their knowledge about being feminin is...

Btw Christ... since men with a fat big account use to put money in a woman's decoltee, women thought practicaly... lets make the decoltee larger so that more money will fit in.... hence the fake boobs

Thanks K for the positive comments! I agree that the consumer culture and media play a role in some women's obsession with glamor and fashion. And, yes, bigger boobs do create a better place to stash money.

Btw I wrote a recent blog called "Women And Beauty" that discusses this very topic. I believe that internal competition among women for a higher place in the social hierarchy does play a part in the female obsession with beauty. But my friend Munchkin Matron thinks it all goes back to trying to impress men. I would be curious to read your comments if you get as chance to check it out.

Have a great day!
Chris

Of course all rules are null and void if she's good looking.

Beta, you should see some of the younger women around the United States, they actually primp their eyebrows to the point where they are more than half removed and it's yukky.

Sunny, it's always good to know you're around.

Cat, how can you get any writing or drawing done with me wrapped around your little finger?

Hi Kati,

Hi Mary,

Hi Uni,

Hi Mysterri,

Hi Chris,

Hi new guy.

HI Bob

hope you had a great celebration yesterday!
Well i am glad that a man is looking for the real beauty.
More and more men get under superficial "artistic shows" that media put on and lose the sense of feminin beauty..

Hugs

Lets not forget a dirty old man too. I should be ashamed of myself flirting with 30 something young women.

I'm a few days late in this post but I've been AWOL But I had to answer because I do play with my eyebrows, though if I didn't wax them, and trim them, I'd have a unibrow unlike any you've ever seen. I'm not extreme, but I do keep them neat (and off the middle of my nose on my forehead.) I also dye my hair because I've been gray since I was 16 and I'm not ready to give into that yet.

There you have it, my two main pieces of vanity.

As to the rest, I'm with Ms A - take me as I am. I want to lose weight for my health. I'm not a jiggling blob of fat, but not a workout hard body either, and I've found more men turned off by that, than anything else.

I do believe that communication is #1. When all is said and done, the body will fade, the looks be gone, the s3x life non-existent, but if you can still enjoy talking to one another, then you've got something very special indeed.

Shari, I don't have a problem with the hair color thingy. I'm talking about these young women who trim so much off their eyebrows that they end up with a thin line. My question to them is why?

Enhancement, not fiddling with what Mother Nature gave us.
