Now that I have reached Indiana I finally have found a computer to keep you up to date. I had a bike accident in the Smokey Mountains. I had to walk my bike up to the top of the mountain because it was to steep for me to ride. At the top I asked a park ranger there if I could camp there that night and was told that I couldn't. So it was 15 miles to the bottom on the other side and I walked my bike down. It was to steep for my brakes to hold do to all the weight that I had on my bike. It was almost 8:30 pm and I still had about six miles left to go. I wanted to get down before it got dark and decided to chance riding it. A big mistake on my part. Soon I was going to fast and tried using my brakes and they went out on me. Then I decided to get on the grass as I hoped that would slow me down enough to stop. Next thing I know I am hitting the ground. Scraped up my left arm real bad and was bleeding from my head. I did not have a bike helmet. I had some toilet paper that I used to try and stop the bleeding. It worked long enough to let me get my bike back in order. I started to walk it again and felt blood coming from my head again. I stopped and put my trap on the ground and then used my sleeping bag as a pillow. Once again I put toilet paper against my head. I layed there on the side of the road for 3 hours before the park rangers found me. I was then taken by ambulance to the local hospital. They ran a bunch of tests on me before they decided that nothing else was wrong with me and then put staples in my head. In the morning I called the Rangers Station and they brought my stuff to me. I was then off on my bike to Walmart to buy a new front basket for my bike as the one I had was really bent up and I got a bike helmet as well. I got lucky that nothing else was wrong with me.

good thing you didn't have any serious injury (or, how bad was that cut your refer to?). I will check your next message to see if you give more details. I am really happy to hear news about you

The staples were in for six days until I came across another hospital emergency room where I had them removed.
