Ever notice how we all go around believing the bad things that happen will never happen to you? Well, I for all the wrong reasons, took things for granted until two nights ago. I attended trivia and games night at a place I've gone regularly for over ten years. My friends and I were having a good time. We were so engrossed in our own jolly laughter and fun, we ignored the man who came in and sat down next to us. With my back at an angle to him, my draft beer on that side, I didn't pay him much attention. We exchanged a few pleasantries and I went back to the trivia. About 1/4 of the way into my beer, I felt ill and odd. My friends made sure I got to my car and I headed home. Before I got in my driveway, I realized something was really wrong. I had not drank enough to feel so out of it , yet I could barely hold my head up. Three hours later I woke up. I have no recollection of those three hours and I barely remember getting home. The stranger had obviously put something in my beer. The only reason, I didn't fall victim to worse was because I immediately realized I was ill and left. I had not drank enough for it to take full effect Thank God. For all my life, I never thought it could happen to me because I was always so cautious. I realize now how very easy it is to become victim to those using the date rape drugs. Do whatever you have to do to protect yourself. Never let your drink out of site and always leave with someone you trust. Never doubt you can become a victim, you can and it happens everyday in all the places you wouldn't think it does. I no longer foolishly believe it can't happen to me. It can and it did. PLEASE! PLEASE, DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE... |

What were his motives for drugging you? You were in a crowded bar not alone with him. How could he expect to gain? Perhaps I am out of touch. I am well aware of date rape drugs but have never heard of speculative use in a bar... It would be better for all concerned if you immediately reported this to the police and paid a visit to the Doc to make sure there are no long term effects. ** guaranteed Goody free **

Thank goodness you were with good friends and you realized you were ill. My goodness this is a scary story--but at least nothing happened. Do you think you would recognize him again? Hope you told your friends about this incident as well..... Glad you're okay and nothing worse happened. Thank you for the warning. Wishing you happiness Misty

OMG, Cat, thank God you got home safe and sound!! And good thing you had your friends there with you! And thank you too, for sharing this, so women would be warned. I'm dyslexic. I scream Ho Dog instead of Oh God in the throes of passion.

I think I am safe. 97 year old grannies could not carry me out to their love shack. ] Ignore the duct tape. I am just trying to piece the site back together.
