Centralization, and free world

'Can you freely dissent with anything your government does without fear of any repercussions? This is what being in the free world to us means. This is what we Filipinos fought for and died during our time with the Spaniards. The right to voice our opinions, to treat our leaders as humans who can make mistakes, to criticize them if they do make these mistakes without any fear, is the foundation of democracy. Do you have this right, this freedom of speech and expression in your country, or do you constantly fear that the government will crack down on you as well if you so much as voice a differing opinion?'

=> The Philippines woman are proude for she comes from free world, and teach me a lesson about free world, for I am from Chinese.

I am proud for I coming from China.

For the free world are shortly and full of lies, but China exists for long long time and we live in truth. And we are free realy.

Of course I can freely dissent our government, using email, forum, phone and any way you like. When I open a BBS, may half of the topics dissent something about Chinese government.I am not special man.Every Chinese man can talk everyting he like on BBS, and soonly many comments will add after it.

But China is not within the free world you called. We are different.

Our leaders are human, but there is a team to help them, and limit them too. China develope very quickly, and more and more powerful. Every year is new yera for Chinese people. Well, I can not image out how happy my daughter will be when she grows up, just like my mother often tells me:'you are much better than before'.

So, Chinese leader's team are great men.

I believe in that Chinese leader will lead our nation return back to center of the world. We will be most advanced nation and most powerful country.

200 yreas sunking is too long for China.

Now we are back.

So I am proud, for I come from China, and I am a Chinese.

There are many way to manage a country. Powerful centralization is one of them. And history has proved it is suitable and effective for China.

Well, it's turn for free world to prove. Most people of the world have known that American president lies, and many Iraqi are killed every second by American soldiers. Every normal human knows the war must be stop immidately. The people in free world are so kindness, and so powerful in their country, they are free to do anyting they like, they are freely dissent with everything...They go to street together to anti-war.

But is it realy that American government arrest more than 200 people in a anti-war peaceful parade? Well, they have violated the law of free world. It's said in a report that 726 American per 100,000 are imprisonsed in the jail. Of course even in preson they are freely dissent.Maybe They are also proud for they are living in free world , together with you.

Till now, what the people in free world have done for stoping the war? Just send her husband, her son and her brother to Iraq to kill more Iraqi?

We are different from the West. China is defferent from Philippine. We are clearly for these difference, and we are proud of it.

We're all different, and we're all the same.

All countries have their problems.

Support a government if you must, but please, never trust it.

What gower said. I don't trust my own government either. Bunch of crooks if I ever saw one.

All countries have their own problems---we have ours, the US has theirs. But we are open for everyone to see what is happening in our own countries. We do not lock foreign journalists out of our countries so that the world cannot see what is going on. We do not censor images in our national television. We do not stop people from unfurling banners in our public places just because we have a fear of what the banners might say.

These all happened in your country. The last two I personally witnessed, and experienced.

I'm dyslexic. I scream Ho Dog instead of Oh God in the throes of passion.

MunchkinMatron2 : Let's talk about your banner again..

If you write something like '我来自菲律宾人'(I am from Philippine) by Chinese and show it in Chinese street, well ,we just feel funny. For everyday we see thousands people from everywhere, you are special one.

But if you wrote by English, well, You are in China, and most Chinese people only know Chinese, realy that's enough for them. So it's reasonable pol. can stop you showing it.No one knows you write what, and I've told you, there is a special and not-allowed-playing place all Chinese people.

Can I show a banner written 'God's mathor is bitch ' in your Cathedral? Of course I am free and I can have my own option about her, but I know it's not suitable to do that.

If you write a banner with '菲律宾人永远是中国人的好朋友'(Philippines are always friends of Chinese), well, maybe the Pol will take photo with you and your banner, and you can show it all day there.

Maybe, the answer is not enough for you.But it has been enough for Chinese. In China, you should observe the Chinese rule. That's ok?

The thing I find VERY relevant is you said you can freely dissent, yet your police stopped us from even unfurling a banner. Even before they saw what was inside. Where is the freedom to dissent there?

As to what was inside the banner? It said nothing more than that we were this group of business people from Manila making this trip to Beijing on this date. Part of it was in Chinese, part in English. We offered to show the banner to the policeman so he could see there was nothing there, but he even refused to look at it. So how can you say you have the freedom to dissent, to express your opinion, when nobody could even open up ANY banner in Tiananmen? It wasn't just us, it was EVERYONE.

As to saying whatever you wanted in a banner, like in your example---the priests will probably try to stop you, but the GOVERNMENT will not. The priests will most likely try to talk to you and ask why you are saying that about God, but the government will NOT step in, unless the Church filed a case against you, which most likely they won't, because even the Church understands that what you are doing is due to your right to freedom of expression.

We have had demonstrations here where our President's head was put atop a cardboard snake's body to illustrate how corrupt she is. Were they stopped? No. She has been called a thief, a robber, a traitor to the country by people who are dissatisfied with what she has done. But were they stopped even BEFORE they opened their banner? No. Were they stopped even AFTER they opened their banner? No. Not even by the police.

We have had people criticize the government, the Church, the politicians--some even had shirts printed with protest slogans against the President, calling for her to step down. Were they stopped? No.

So, I don't see how you can say you have the freedom to dissent there, when your television is censored, and your police, who are representatives of your government, stop even tourists from unfurling innocent banners even BEFORE they saw what was written inside.

I'm dyslexic. I scream Ho Dog instead of Oh God in the throes of passion.

Oh, and our tour guide, who is from Beijing, a pure Chinese who is also VERY supportive of your government, but knew English, read what was in our banner, and saw there was nothing bad written there. She tried to explain it to the policeman, but we were still refused.

So I don't see what you're insisting that you have the freedom of expression in your country. What I saw was a country whose government is SO afraid of any criticism they can't even let tourists open innocent banners in a public place.

Well, something are written in your banner, and it's in TIANANMENG, one graveful and special place of China.

And it's very special place for all Chinese. So make no joke there.

Maybe the policeman are too serious for your case, but he has done a good job for Chinese people.

If you come to China, just obey the rules in China. If you want to trouble us, go out please.

I know your president is a woman and her husband or father was president once, just like young Bush and old Bush are all presidents. Maybe president's child has more change to be president, or their family are blessed by God and so have better lucky for all others.

But it's realy similar for Chinese pasted Dynasty, the king's children or wift became to the next king.

And, you can say much about your government, but what's changed? I know little news about your country, good news or bad news.Well, some war happend is the south island, and someone want to have their own country. American government helped your government to kill thoese Souther.

So your demecracy?
