This morning i used the word, "mayhap" and it occurred to me that you don't really hear a lot of mayhaps these days huh? It's a word that's almost fallen out of the lexicon of modern Engerlish. But mayhap was once a star. A few hundred years ago you couldn't turn a page without stumbling upon another mayhap. Shakey boy himself used and abused mayhap like a bargain-basement trollop "50 pee fer a good rhyme guvnor!". I'm thinking perhaps i should open a home for wayward words and orphaned oratory (government funded of course - even old Scotty dawgs deserve their place at the trough surely?) Well mayhap i should go do some work. Laters me terrapins and "i'm ready for my preface now Mister Dickens".

Hey Jake, it is funny how words change through out history. I mean first it was only latin written, but hardly anyone could read... then it went to Anglo Norman, then olde english now modern english... what makes me laugh is that Google is a word. so is gr8 i mean far out, our language is evolving faster than we are haha..
So did you miss me, I just flutter in and out. By the way so pleased to see my fav pic of you up there
today........ gone tomorrow..xx

>>Americans will do anything to try to pretend there's such a thing as "American Engerlish" huh?<<
Well in the case of "bloviating," the word seems so apt for some all-too-frequent American behavior, don't you think?
