Stimpy Impy. So the hounds name is Impy. Bit of a disappointment huh?lol Well i met another of me neighbours on me mornin walk with the mutt and she greeted the little fecker by name lol.Seemingly Impy has never walked on the lead before (but i daren't take him off in case he makes a bid fer freedom and his owner comes home to me saying "I'm really sorry but i lost yer hound") and it shows. The first day i took him out fer a walk he tried to pull me arm out of the socket but i've been training him (by pulling back and barking heel every time he tries to sprint in front of me lol) and slowly he's getting the message. Now he walks to heel for about 30 seconds before reverting to his old behaviour, quick tug, "HEEL" and 30 seconds of obedience follows lol. By Saturday when his master returns i expect we'll be up to 2 minutes, sadly all my work will go to waste as i can't train the master how to control his pet can i?lol I am terribly strict huh? but i've always believed (and i'm right so don't say nuffin or else!) with pets and you need to be completely consistant. So my offspring and my furry friends never ever get away with misbehaving. Now SIT!!!!! Catch yer laters me good boys and girls. |

I think the same about my two year old and my eternal toddlers (dogs) always be consistant. Lets chuck it all and start a think tank.

*Must try saying HEEL to me bairns* But seriously, consistency is key. I start counting, and my boys know I mean business--they better stop whatever it is I told them to stop doing. I hardly ever get to 5. I'm dyslexic. I scream Ho Dog instead of Oh God in the throes of passion.

I started saying "Ho"...having horses and all, was just a habit..dogs stop..horses stop..and kids stop...Now I have to be careful...some people wouldn't like it if I yelled "Ho" in public...not politically correct or something... Earth is the insane asylum for the universe.

Personally...I do enjoy a good strong firm hand every now and then... let your imgination run wild wif dat one Jakey baby!  Gettin out of line is fun most times...especially when you have someone to put you back in place.. Ha ha. This is the best parenting advice I've read lately, and I've read three books cover to cover. When I was a teacher I'd "count" when the students would disobey. But I'd do it superfast. Onetwothree. Just like that, and there was never a chance they would be able to 'obey' in time. Just my little set up for a justified trip to the office. I think I'm sorta a jerk, really. No idea why I just told you that story. Must be a Heel/High School combo floating in my brain... Cheers!

Tell them what will happen once and then make good on that warning. It does them not one ounce of good for you to be patient with them (assuming they understand what it is their not supposed to do lol) Ohh that was my maws second favourite Heavenly, her favourite was of course "wait till your paw gets home!"lol Send them to bed with no supper cruisy lol Same to you with snuggles on Belle my belle.
