Grannies old homilies. My auld granny was a Cornishwumman who i loved with all my little boy heart and she had a saying for every occassion. Most didn't really make any sense to me but the one that really dumbfounded me and still does was "handsome is as handsome does". I have no idea what that means? Is it derogatory? Does it mean handsome people are vapid and vain?Is it complimentary? Does it mean that handsome people do things handsomely? I just dunno. Anybody got a clue? Somebody once said of me "Jake wouldn't see green cheese". Any guesses?lol She assured me it just meant i didn't like to see things go to waste but i suspect she meant i'll scavenge anything that looks less than worthless.lol (and it's true- i keep an eye out on dustybin day in case somebody's chucking out something interesting like a bike or an old telly i can fix lol)Hence i now have 18 Bertha T bikes and enough spares to make another half dozen. Well anyhoo. Don't i just get more and more interesting as each post goes by. Yer gonna misss me when i retire huh?lol Kissys right at you loverly laydees. Big manly cuddles to any fellers lost and stumbling in here.lol |

kisses right back at you XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX ANY LOST FELLAS over here please  me likes to scavenge as well,ran a site clearance business for 13 years,everyday was like a treasure trove of mystery,my friends use to put orders in for stuff that they wanted,i had the most interesting home,but not like steptoes Mine had class lol,i remember the value falling out of scrap as well,now its back up again,like the days when we ran our scrap in.beer money lol ive seen all the victorian fireplaces and cast iron baths ripped out,then low and behold 10 year on ,all put back again,its a mad mad mad consumerism world,and when i had the business i saw it everyday. can i buy one of yer bikes lol come and roll in the mud i wanna get dirty.

Uni said what I was going to say about Handsome (pretty) is as Handsome (pretty) does....... Jake wouldn't see green cheese? I would take it as a compliment. Sounds to me like you look beneath the surface for what's real. That may be why you have so many bike's......one man's trash is another man's treasure type of thing.

I'm with the idea that you cant disguise what lies within. Same logic to other versions eg "stupid is as stupid does" that I've heard before. You can dress up but you cant change the person inside. Even with the benefit of the doubt, fakes exhaust that and are always exposed sooner or later. P

Oh piggles I think i'd really enjoy being a "house-clearer" except for the horrible thought that i'd be rooting fer people to pop their clogs so i could rummage through their worldly possessions.lol lol swoony, i still don't get how "handsome is as handsome does" relates to "Good deeds are more important than good looks", there is no logical transition between the two statements surely. Though of course i fully accept this is the correct definition i just don't get how it ever came to be. Ahh shmoosy cruisy but "don't judge a book... Quite right too Heavenly i'm always disappointed with wimmen who measure their worth by how much some (usually unattractive) man esteems her. Oh fer shame woulds't thou have me tittle tattle tales from the bloggyverse (It's okay i know the answer is yes lol I just don't have any gossip- No-one tells me nuffink)

As you can see from tiddays post, sadly i can't shut up fer more than a few days lol But i'm still undecided as to what to do with me little home here. Any suggestions chessa me cheeky monkey?lol Love you mosterer.(ooo that nearly cmae out as molesteror lol)
