Mithras the Messiah 600 years before Christ the Eastern world adhered to the cult of Mithras. Born on the 25th of December (Almost all biblical scholars agree that whilst they cannot say for certain which date Jesus was born on, the 25th of December is certainly not his birth date)to a virgin human mother and the of the sun. Hence Sundays were sacred in the Mithraic religion. He travelled widely with his 12 apostles spreading the way of the light.It was beleived he had the power to redeem sinners.Much of what we regard as Christian rites were practiced by Mithraics. Baptism, the eating of bread and sacred wine,belief in a Heaven and a Hell and that one day a great conflagration will come and the dead shall rise again.All Mithraic. At Easter Mithras was slain, entombed and rose again three days later to redeem his followers. He was referred to as "The good shepherd", "The way", "The light","Saviour","Redeemer" and "Messiah". Now where have you heard that lot before?lol I've said it before and i'll keep saying it till it gets really, really, really annoying, people will beleive any old nonsense, they really will. |
