 I knew it in my head (mind)
that beautiful girl, so fine
was never going to be
the first or last of mine.
though i knew so much
i knew so little too
and after all these years
she's at home in my heart still now
All other girls came and went
No other maids did tarry
Except the one i promised to
but never took to marry.
