How strange is family My mum is so mean Why does she do it She just hasn't seen In her eyes i've let her down I don't have my own home My job she doesn't like Oh she does so moan "You're not like your brothers and sisters" She said bitterly to me "Why aren't you settled" It's hard for her to see "I am what i am" i say "No harm have i done" Happiness before now has eluded me Except, my daughter and my son I shall look to the future I am very happy at this time My mum i'll leave behind Remember my life is mine!!!! So, forward i will go With a guy so caring It's her loss not mine For the love i'll be sharing On a word of cheer On this lovely warm day My Friend Finder mug Did find its way..... Trying to please everyone eventually means shortchanging yourself. Live your life the way you want it--other people's expectations are just that--expectations. You're not obligated to fulfill them.  I'm dyslexic. I scream Ho Dog instead of Oh God in the throes of passion.

Well, I spent many years having a tormented relationship with my mother, who put all Jewish mothers to shame with her emotional blackmail monologue. This went on for years till a girlfriend, who is also a mother, gave me a piece of really sound advice. She said, "You did not choose to be born. Your parents chose to put you into this world and you had no say in it. Therefore, you do not owe them anything." After that things became very clear and I chose my own path regardless of what anyone had to say about it and I stopped feeling guilty. The only person you owe is yourself and the only debt you owe is joy. Be happy, chickie. In the immortal words from 6th Sense ... I see stupid people.

oh well, mothers! Mine is a bit like yours. You can be sure behind all that talk she does love you anyway. She just wants to educate you further - here I have to laugh, thinking on my own discussions with my mom. Fantastic that you are so decided and happy?

Nice mug! Yes, I know how you feel. Had a strained relationship with my mom for years. Fortunately things have improved. I hope she comes to her senses and realizes what a great daughter you are!  If you can't convince them, confuse them!

My deceased mother used to be like that, but I guess my mom is just too concerned about me when I got separated and wanted me to be with someone so I will not be alone in my older age. Thanks for sharing...I guess we have in common. btw, Thanks for the visit.
