I have an unprecedented problem. I can't find shoes my size.
You would think living in Asia that they would have shoes small enough to fit me. But I went shoe shopping today and came back empty handed.
What is the world coming to when even Asian women have bigger feet than you! Where is the justice? Seriously.
I used to have to go to junior miss or petite departments to get shoes my size in Europe and the US. Finding shoes that did not make me look like a Disney World character was bloody hard, I'll tell you.
In Asia, I happily thought I could finally find a galore of adult-looking shoes. And so it was for years. But recently, I noticed a dastardly conspiracy.
They are hiding shoes my size from me.
That must be the reason.
And in the land of small people (OK, smaller than what I am used to back home), they do not even have junior miss or petite departments! Which means I am up the creek without clogs.
Miss, can you find a pair in my size please?
What size are you?
4 or 35.
Frantic searching for hours.
I'm sorry, miss but we do not stock such small sizes.
Bugger.
And it was like that in every store I went to!
Look, I like being barefooted but people do tend to stare when you walk all over town looking like a hobo. No offense to hobos.
My despondency was further heightened when I met the rudest woman I have encountered in a long time.
I was watching some friends at a street dancing contest and decided to get a better view from a floor up, over the open airwell. There was an older woman standing next to me and she seemed perfectly sane at first.
My mistake was letting my hair down and when I swiveled my head to look at something, apparently, my hair swiped her bare arm.
She yelled at me and told me that my hair had assaulted her.
Startled, I apologised and continued watching the performances.
Someone called out to me so I turned my head. And apparently my unbridled hair molested her arm again.
She pushed me and started shrieking that I had done it on purpose. Whereupon I lost my temper ad told her she was psychotic and my hair had better things to do than molest a dried up witch like her.
Things were coming to a head where I was getting ready to let loose with more than my hair when my friends intervened and told her to piss off. They guided me to the judges area so I could get a better view and seat, placating me all the while and casting worried looks in the mad cow's direction.
She continued yelling and screaming like a banshee. And had to be chucked out of the place by security.
Nice.
I have not lost my temper that quickly or aggressively in a long time and it took me a rather long time to calm down. Just last weekend I met some of the nicest strangers and this weekend the fates had obviously decided to even things up.
Lucky for her I had not brought Hakim.
Thankfully, Spain played a good game and won or the night would have been a real bust. Portugal better not piss me off too by losing.
And I still need shoes.

AWWW...
I have another problem...I have size 6...everyone kinda has that size in Europe...US...so the nicest shoes on my size go like warm bread and I'm left with the ugly duckies. So I made friends with a sales representative at a store I like to shop...she calls me when they get inventory so i get a look at them before the crowd gets to devour them.

Tried shopping online? Better than cutting up shredded wheat boxes to stuff in to oversize shoes
Peter
PS assault and battery with hair... would that stand up in court? Sadly depends on how good the lawyer is , nothing to do with Justice

I just saw some size 4s at Charles and Keith here. Display models, tho.
Gee, that woman must've run out of Prozac, and how.
I'm dyslexic. I scream Ho Dog instead of Oh God in the throes of passion.

There are size 6s everywhere in Asia! Unfortunately I am never in one place long enough to get friendly with specific stores where they can call me to go over when new inventory comes in. In fact, some of them told me yesterday that they do not even bring in my size at all anymore. Bugger.

Er, you can't buy shoes online usually ... not women's shoes anyway. That's because the sizes are inconsistent for each manufacturer and brand. Say a size 4 with brand X may actually be a Size 3.5 or 5 with Brands Y & Z. Also, different cuts and heel length affect the sizes as well. And the comfort level can only be determined if you actually physically try them on.
At this rate I will end up in dance shoes all the time as those are more consistent and made for long, hard wear & tear.
My hair registered as a lethal weapon. Great, more paperwork ...

They did not even have Size 4s in Charles and David in Singapore! Actually I think I better luck in Malaysia. Did you know that I could not find pants my size in Thailand? Thailand! That's just ridiculous! They looked at me pityingly and said they did not stock such a small size! Rubbish! I see loads of women smaller then me in Thailand. It's a conspiracy I say!
Oh, a lot of the sales assistants in the shoe stores all say my feet may even be a 3.5 now. What?!! They shrank??!!!
Oh, that bloody woman. She really got me so pissed off. I swear I was this close to punching her face in. I had to press my fingernails into my palm to stop myself. I have not been so near trigger point in a long time. My leg was already rising up to back kick her head. Good things my friends came or I would have been spending the night in a Singapore prison. Where you do not have the right to a phone call.

Didn't know average Singapore ladies have so large feet, no offence though.
Mine is also 35, sometimes 36, depends on whether the shoes were made a bit larger or smaller than the standard size. Never had any problem shopping for them here.
But once while shopping for sweaters for my nephew in a kid's store, I bought a checked shirt for myself. The shirt was actually intended for 14/15-year-old teenagers, but it fitted me so well, besides it was on sale. Always think it a good bargain, except for the small cartoon brand.

I know, I am shocked too! I do not have that problem in Hong Kong. I think Singaporean women may be er ... too well fed maybe? The newer generation must be a lot bigger than their other Asian counterparts. But that does not explain the problem I encountered in Thailand.
I am actually too tall for my shoe size, so for weight, mass distribution, I had to work harder than the rest.
I cannot wear anything with a cartoon brand. My very skin revolts against the thought.

I had to go over your recent 15 posts (which i've missed while i was away) and laughing hard here at some of your blogs, i.e the preggers, the shoe size, that old lady who accused you of intentionally brandishing her wrinkly arms with your hair. hahaha!
good luck on your shoe hunting, though. lol
