Why Shouldn"t Teachers Make More $$$$ ??? Teachers are paid too much?? What if we paid them babysitting wages. That’s right. I’d give them $3.00 an hour. And, I’m only going to pay them for 5 hours, not planning time. That would be $15.00 a day. Each parent should pay $15.00 a day for these teachers to baby sit their . Even if they have more than one , it’s still cheaper than private daycare. Now how many do they teach a day - maybe 20? That’s $15.00 x 20 = $300.00 a day. But remember, they only work 180 days a year! I’m not going to pay them for all the vacations: $300.00 x 180 = $54,000. (Just a minute my calculator must need batteries.) What will teachers say about those who have 10 years of experience and a master’s degree? Well, maybe (just to be fair) they could get the minimum wage. We can round that off to about $6.00 an hour, times 5 hours, times 20 . $6.00 x 5 x 20. That’s $600 a day times 180 days. That’s only $108,000. Wait a minute! There is something wrong here . . . . . . . . Pawzzzz |

excuse me but how is it saying that teachers need more money for what they do an insult ?? I think all teachers deserve alot more than what they are paid .. but I guess complimenting others is not always good when they don't read it correctly .. but thank you for your opinion thats what the blogs are for... allwoman4ever4u i think you misunderstood the blog as a teacher i can guarantee we don't make $108.000 a year this blog is saying babysitters make more than teachers and that we need a raise to even make as much as a baby sitter does. Personally as a teacher i want to thank pawzzz for writing it.

I think pawzzz makes a good point. Consider this: we hire teachers and pay them a pittance... and entrust them to help educate our kids. A corporation hires a CEO, ostensibly to help that company make some or more money, and increase a company's value as determined by its stock price. Yet, time and time again we see these so-called leaders falter or fail.... then leave town with the booty from their golden parachute. Heck, some of them make more from salary and perks in a year than many teachers will make in a life-time.... THEN, make off with more than that in their severance package!!! Where IS the fairness in the paying of people in this world??????
