A Stairway to Heaven

Only recently i have discovered my joy in playing music (the guitar) myself again. During the last years i think i can almost say that music has played an important role in my life - supporting me when i was down, expressing feelings i had, giving me a chance to relax after a hard day or just making daily things look not so bad or boring. Everyone should try listening to new and also very different styles of music as it can be a huge benefit to broaden one's "musical horizon". Yet it's still possible to make a step further - interpreting a song you like or hearing play a melody you adore for the first time performed by yourself.
When i was a youth my parents wanted me to learn an instrument and i have chosen the guitar as it seemed somehow the most versatile to me. When i look back maybe piano would have suited me better as i'm anyway more of a solo player allways. So for 4 years i had gone to my lessons but i have almost never enjoyed it. Only now i realize that the imprinted style of music did not suit me and due to this i have finally given it up. After quitting i have played rarer and rarer so in the end it has taken many years to make me realize how important it is actually to me to play music myself - provided i can follow my own likings in music ^^. Above all i admire those who are another step ahead of me (maybe even two like my friend Y.) - having mastered their instrument(s) to an amazing level of skill so music can actually serve as a new way of expression; there's no need anymore to concentrate on getting better and practicing so much anymore. I don't know if i will ever reach such a level, yet i'm already happy to have rediscovered my passion for playing and not only listening. I'm thankful for all the ecstasizing music (above all for the song named after my headline that has motivated me a lot) which has brought my back on following my own stairway to "heaven" ^^.

 Just a little comment.. "Stairway to heaven" is my all time favourite song (led zeppelin happen ta be one of my most admired bands) music isnt something u can force on a person its kinda like people u have to respect it and appreciate its presence if u cant make it work for your self and enjoy its not gunna happen. Music is a sense of freedom.. without it the world be nothing.

Music comes first, Lyrics come second!

 I'm crazy about all kinds of music ..honestly i cant even begin to describe how much i love it its such a major part of my self id be lost without it!!.. I'll listen to just about anything!Some of my favourite bands would certainly have to be Kings of Leon, Nirvana The Doors and Guns 'n' Roses thats just to name a few id be here all day and night other wise.. lol ..I like alot of the 60s 70s and 80s music aswell.. basically anything with a great melody simple but powerful lyrics and sometimes a great guitar riff! Other then zeppelin what other music are u interested in? and what other instruments are you learning to play?

 Yeah im pretty good at most instruments the piano and bass guitar being the most enjoyable for me to play.. coming from a music orientated family it rubs off on ya and singing is actually something im good at.. plus: i also love it (as u already know lol)..

 haha!! nah ive always wanted to be in a band ive never sung in public although im not scared to ive just never had the opportunity to do so and as for what it sounds like i really dont know its kinda a mixture of everything ..il have to think about now.. lol
