I have recently returned to my knitting pleasure.
I wasn't going to knit again at this time as I have lots of other things to do. But when I was at the haberdashery shop (love going to that big store which gives me so many inspirations), and was about to pay for the little things I picked up, I noticed this pile of beautiful lavender and deep purple Sexy tuff sticking out from underneath all the other lovely coloured wool far in the distance. It was just calling me 'take me home, take me home!!', and I just couldn't resist taking 10 slings (?) of the supersoft Merino wool home with me (quite pricey I must admit ).
As I couldn't remember if I still had the super big knitting needles from yesteryear, I picked up a size 10 of them, and some super fat crochet needles as well in case I need to tidy the edges with crochet stitches.
Patterns .... who needs patterns Have knitted since I was nine and knitted all my dolly's clothes during summer school vacation. When I was a teenager, I organised a knitting competition with my friends, and I knitted one of those BIG jackets with a high collar, in very thick ivory coloured wool, but no pattern. It turned out really nice, and became my favourite jacket for spring, autumn and winter (I still have that jacket, hehe).
As soon as I got home with my new-found-love, I could hardly wait to roll up the slings into balls and start knitting. But the question was ... what to knit? I mean this IS the tropics, it's always hot and humid. I can't very well knit a pullover or a beret So I started off with 120 slings, thinking .... maybe I should knit an Afghan. I could use it when I lie in my massage chair, or when I have a siesta on Sundays . That would be nice.
Now I just hope that the knitting needles are long enough to hold 120 stitches, as the knitting is getting heavier with each row.
Will take a picture of it when it's completed and post it here for you to see.

I am so impressed by knitters, needle pointers, and seamstresses in general. Whenever I try any of these activities, I become one giant stress knot, stop breathing, and nearly have an anxiety attack.
Not my relaxation technique of choice. So, wow. You can do that? My 8 year old daughter wants to learn to knit and in fact she sewed something yesterday. Amazing.
Peace .. elaine67

Hi Elaine
You know, I always thought that everyone knows how to knit, and that this little episode would bore everyone to tears But now I see that it's not such a popular choice for relaxation. For me it's therapy ... forcing me to sit still (sort of) for about one hour, while watching something interesting on TV.
Great that your daughter started sewing I remember sewing my first (self-designed) dress when I has 15 y.o. It was the hight of fashion with a 3 tiers skirt (at least you couldn't see the mistakes I made) What did your daughter sew?
Thank for stopping by dear

Hi PPR
Some people are good at writing, some are great at sports, and others have multiple choices. What is your choice dear?

Hi Neighbour
I love the scent of lavender, it's very calming
But I also love that colour, from sweet, soft lavender to Sexy deep aubergine purple. It all started when I had my car sprayed in a metallic eggplant colour, which looked nearly black at night. I remember the whole neighbourhood trying to copy it, lol (but wouldn't tell them the code, hehe).
Have a lovely weekend. It's nice weather to go to Eastcoast roller-blading

Hi Gorgeous
Welcome to my little corner of Blogsville.
Your little booties brought back memories to when I was in labour with my first, I was sitting in the hospital bed knitting booties for my unborn girl, and tiny little vests and pullovers, all in white It sure took my mind off the labour pain while concentrating on the pattern Oh, such wonderful memories.
Thanks for stopping by dear
Have a super weekend.

Hi Alec
No no, I'm not going to drop any with this kind of wool, lol. I wouldn't be able to find what I dropped afterward But yes, that is a nice, simple pattern. This wool has so many various textures, one minute it's all normal thread, the next ten stitches feel like I knitting cotton wool
You have a super weekend dear

Hi Lei
Will stop by your post and check out the beads. That's another thing I have been doing. Made one of those big handbags that are so hot now, and putting lots of beads on the front. My son told me it looks 'real cool'
Thanks for stopping by dear
