Charge, run, Dash headlong Through this opalescent mist That blinds scarred eyes And whispers lies Of opulent desire.
Now pause, Incline to rest And close deaf ears To vapid hints of fame.
For even knaves Must fold at times Within the calm they crave.

Give me a hint whisper a clue pause to this knave incline what is due his opal for prize to a great opulent scar you’ll see with an eye he has many by far so stand in line for free but for you he may charge
I gave it a shot, why not.

The scars left by her sad divorce Gave whispered pause to knaves, Who eyed her slyly, gathered force And charged at her in waves.
She hinted she was not inclined To love again, no malice. But she took their opals, nevermind, And bought an opulent palace.

The beautiful queen shone like an opal as she paused her little game. She looked at the knave whispered in his ear, his eyes big, looked down in her decollote. "You can win me and lay down on these opulant bosoms, all you have to do is play the right card" With the blink of an eye she looked at his face the young knave knew surely could take a hint and he knew what that blink meant. But he answered: "I am not in charge of this game I am merely a card in the hands of my queen. I am not playing I'm just a knave and part of this game". She burst out in tears and in anger as her opal appearance inclined She took her last card, closed her eyes cried her tears with her last breath she fell to the floor and the light of her opal appearance died But in her hand lies a card with a fold, just like a scar on the face of the knave and there's a smile on his face cause just for one second he felt her bosom and he knew he won this game.

Not reading the other poems yet...I don't read them until after I've written one--otherwise I get intimidated!!
Didn't know you were an Angel fan! I remember that episode where Spike recites his poem....pretty funny in the midst of the horror. HUGE Joss Whedon fan here...(well, huge has nothing to do with my size... )Love his work...wish he'd return to television--loved Buffy, most of Angel (season four...not so much) and Firefly....
Will try the poem later...
Wishing you happiness

The brazen bold brackish knave, gave forth to her a whisper, inclined was she to accept such an offer. she was older than he but all would agree, her opulence enriched her beauty. others before had never gone that far, she held them back for but one tiny scar. she hymned and hawed and he took charge, and knelt down afore her. he gave her a wink, she took the hint, and opened her thighs unto him. Eureka cried he, my eyes have never seen such opalescent treasure. he leaned forth with such a kiss, and soon was she in perfect bliss. for no longer was he a knave to be, inside her bedroom chamber.

Dear Muse
I am soooooooooooo enjoying your poetic challenges, not to mention they are good for the mind and soul.
Havent read the others, based it on a pesonal storyline.
here so here we go..>>>>>
I pause for a moment as a whisper with a hint of sadness does incline and scar the body and mind. Bruises in opulent opal shades befall to catch the eye. Justice serves to charge the knave responsible.
voila... thanks again.. cant wait for more... you know me.. I have a big appetite

Okay here it is...tried it in a sonnet form...not entirely convinced it works as a poem...but what the heck...the challenge was taking the words and the form and seeing what happened...
a I hear the opalescent whispers of the trees b Their blossoms flash—pink, purple, shots of yellow a Opulent in their dress, the dancing leaves b Play like lavish knavish fellows.
c I sit under the trees, looking for hints d That love might grow among the flowers c Or amid the opulent trees. The floral tints d Belie that notion. No love in this flowery bower.
e Instead there is a pause, and quiet descends f Then the crows charge in, mischief in their eyes e and in their feet. They dance and each pretends f That he is one who is wise.
g There is no wisdom here, only a blackened heart g. And scars left behind whenever the crows depart.

The Needle
On the incline of your arm, In a whisper of a shape, Where scars now hint of skin, Lay sliced A painted knave.
Such opulent disguise (the cutlery well-hid), You traded courage in, And carved A needled man.
Like opal dreams So charged To ecstasy the mind, Your waking eye Was paused And sought The dream again.
Peace .. elaine67

The Ballad Of William Henry Harrison
What gave pause to a medical career was the desire to be a leader. So this opulent man took charge of an army and set out to find the ultimate prize. In the eyes of the public his successes made people whisper With the victory at the battle of Tippecanoe hint of the Presidentcy was all the to do..
Carrying the scar of their plight was Tucemseh, to stand and fight. Henry was inclined to think to defeat the British after their retreat. On October 5th, at the battle of the Thames River a knave man shot and killed the opal Tecumseh lie dead. So Henry made president and was all the rage, too bad for him, his reign only lasted thirty days.

Waking
An eye, scarred by morning’s glare An ear, disinclined to hear A nose, charged with scented air A touch, paused yet hinting near A cheek, opulently blushed A blink, blacking out the day A yawn, lazy and unrushed A taste, sweetens this foray Her tongue, whispers to this knave Love, in swirling opal shades.
(Muse, thanks for the Challenges, they are great fun!)

Gower - Excellent as always and Fast on the uptake to the challenge, lol. Thanks for taking part
Ron - I liked your little poem. I can never get anything to rhyme when I try these challenges. Well done
Scooter - I can't get the picture of hoards of knaves running, out of my head now, lol. Great poem. I enjoyed
Riny - As you know already, I like the double reading in your piece. Great use of the word list too. thank you for adding to the challenge
Misty (non poem post) Yes. I love anything by Joss Whedon. I wasn't so keen on season 4 of angel either. Season 5 I loved because Spike arrived to stir things up I miss not having new seasons of buffy, angel and firefly to look forward to now, but I have all of the seasons of those shows on dvd. Yup, serious Whedon fan here

You're welcome Misty Yes, I liked Wesley too, more so when he went to the dark side, and then there was his love affair with Fred. I wasn't so keen on her until she turned into the demon/god thingy. Then, their relationship was quite heartbreaking...
Congrats on the anniversary. I'll be over to view the challenge soon Have a great day
