Just wondering...Are there any other Sim 2 players here? I've been addicted to the game since the original The Sims came out. I also have a couple of the console versions of the games, but I'm not so fond of them. I prefer the PC version so that I can customize everything I've finally gotten around to ordering Seasons expansion pack, and I'm hoping that it will arrive tomorrow so that I can spend the weekend playing. I foresee a weekend of building snowmen and ice skating

Lol...I used to be a Sim addict....all of them. I don't have all of them with me now or I would be building away...that was always my favorite part. Played Sims Online when it first came out and what fun that was...none of us knew what we were doing.....don't like the online game stuff any more though, but do like Sims2.

Hi Librapop Yes, I love the building aspect too. It's a great game for anyone who enjoys interior design, or architecture I never use the house that came with the game as I like to build the homes myself, design the wallpaper and flooring, and add clothes/genetics/custom objects for my simmies to play with We're spoiled for choice for downloads
I thought about taking out a subscription to the sims online, but I heard it wasn't all that good, so I never got around to it. I'm glad I'm not the only addict here I hope you are still playing Thanks for visiting and commenting. It was nice to hear from you

Well I had a fun-packed day yesterday and got a lot done
I went ice skating twice Fishing twice - caught 4 fish and 1 boot Grew a prize winning garden Picked fruit and veg, sold some and made juice with the rest I built a snowman. Which was then visited by a cute penguin. Got stuck by lightning twice Oh dear...got visited by the reaper Went on 6 dates Woo Hoo (and if you're a simmer, you'll know what that means) Grew a green plant baby Who turned into an adult in only 4 days! Made friends with a wolf Had one sim spontaneously combust (Adrea Hogan) I've no idea why as she wasn't a vampire and there wasn't anything to cause her to catch fire...Now she's a ghost and haunting one of my other sims. Went roller skating Had a snowball fight Built 2 new houses and much more.... I'm exhausted ha ha

I now have all the expansions. (Not the stuff packs though. I prefer to download free from the net) Freetime being the very last one (so they say) for the Sims 2. Still waiting on the patch for it, although out of all the expansions, it seems to have been the one with the least amount of glitches, so I'm not tearing my hair out waiting for it, lol
I may not be writing anymore, but my sims are keeping me busy. I'm teaching myself how to make movies and I have one sims series on the go where the hero is a cute bunny
I'll be interested to see what The Sims 3 will be like, there's not really a lot of info on the trailers I've seen. I guess I'll buy it though

Hi Mac, yes the sims 2 is a lot of fun. It's a PC game with lots of expansion packs. I've been playing for years. If you got to youtube and search for sims 2 you'll find a lot of music videos that people have made using the game. I hope your weekend is going well.

Woo hoo, I've just been reading about the next new expansion Apartment Life. It looks like a lot of fun, and they've included witches and magic. Ah takes me back to the days of the Sims 1 and the Makin' Magic expansion. I guess this will be the last of the expansions for TS2 and The Sims 3 is on the way

Ok, so now I'm furious with EA At the end of last week I downloaded their patch for Freetime (the patch supposed to fix bugs in the latest expansion pack) and it completely destroyed my game. Luckily I had made backup files of my current game progress but after this fiasco I wasn't able to put them all back in as I can no longer get Freetime to work. I also had to un-install BV as my computer wouldn't recognize the discs anymore. Apparently this is a problem that started with Bon Voyage when Maxis added Sony's SecuriROM protection to their discs to stop people copying them. The problem is that if you have legitimate software like Nero or other disc burning programmes on your computer (even if you never use them) then it causes a conflict, resulting in the Sims disc not reading and therefore the game not loading. It will even conflict with things like Windows Media player because of the rip and burn features. I've spent the last 5 days trying to resolve the problems the patch caused, and my game still isn't running properly and keeps crashing. I have a sims 2 video series running on Youtube so this is a BIG issue for me. I've managed to retrieve the characters, but all the Story Lots are gone.
Maxis is aware of the problems this patch is causing it's customers. Their site is full of people complaining and yet they still haven't even said sorry, or removed the Patch. They did add a SecuriROM removal tool, but from what I've read on bulletin boards etc, it doesn't remove all the files. Anyway, if anyone reading this has Freetime. I strongly advise that you do not download and install that patch, unless you want to join the thousands of people like me who's game has been devastated. I will NOT be buying the next expansion or moving on to the next generation Sims 3. Furious, furious, furious. Did I mention that I'm a tad P****** off with Maxis
Hmm, I think maybe this is the first time I've had a rant in my blog lol
