A Poetic Challenge - Just for fun

Not sure if anyone is interested in doing another one of these, but I decided to post a new challenge anyway.

The Challenge

Write a poem incorporating all of the 10 words from the list.
The words can be used in any order and may be changed to variations
ie - Shop = Shops, Shopping, Shopper

title your piece as you like.

You can post your poem to your own blog, or post it here.
If posting to your blog, then leave a link so we can all visit to read.

Have fun

The poems of love
In scarlet letters
burned like fire
on paper
Hungry for words
like crazy they ate them
as they lit up
slowly fulfilling their task
And the flame like an
uncontrolled beast
turned those symbols
to ashes
Fire and paper
two opposite sides
but still
two of a trade
The skill of a hand
a pen lets words
arrive like trains but
then again, never too late
The match will tell you
though, as it lights the flame,
words will be gone
and slowly they'll fade
But that's all they were
these words,
never more than
just an empty parade.

The Beast

I am the beast,
a scarlet envy waiting;
a monster crazed
by the trade
for your arrival.
I am a beast
in your Honor;
paraded in a haze
of an untended fire.
I am your beast
gone in the feeding
of your desire.
I am a beast skilled
in the
emptiness
of survival.

Peace .. elaine67

Riny - This reminds me of love letters re-read many years after a romance has ended. Burning words at the start, but as you say, ashes at the end. I really enjoyed reading. Great use of the words.
Thanks for taking part

Elaine - Quite a powerful piece I thought of jealous hearts longing to be loved, but skilled in the art of waiting. Your poem created some vivid imagery for me
I like the way you used the words. I hope you enjoyed the challenge. Thanks for taking part

Ok my friend, I'll give this a try. Here is my humble contribution, unlike the poem I put on my blog, this one took alot of effort to write, so here goes:

I’m Just Lazy

They say that I’m crazy, but really I’m lazy
I don’t like to work at all
If there’s work to be done, I’m not the one
That anyone should call

I don’t have a skill, nor any will
An education or a trade
If it’s got to be done, I’m not the one
So don’t rain on my parade

I’m like that girl Scarlet, who became a harlot
So she could stay in bed
I lay on my back, here in the sack
But enough of that’s been said

Now take my friend John, he’s always gone
To the office every day
He’s missing a lot, and what has he got
To show for it anyway

If someone calls “fire”, I’ll think he’s a liar
And in my bed I’ll stay
If firemen arrive, and I’m still alive
I’ll insist on being carried away

Just like a beast, I don’t care in the least
What anyone may say
I live my life, because my dear wife
Brings home all her pay

So if you feel sorry, after reading this story
And empty you think I be
When you go to work, and your boss is a jerk
Don’t come crying to me

To write this poem, I let my mind roam
Then dictate it to my wife
I know it’s not fair, but I don’t really care
Cause it’s a hell of a life.

Hi Don Great poem and humorous You got a lot of use out of the words. And the poor guys wife...Lol Funny. It reminds me of a reality tv show that I watched recently where the husband wouldn't get out the bed and his wife had to fetch and carry all day.
Great work. I enjoyed reading. I hope you enjoyed the challenge. thanks for taking part

Can't believe I missed one of your Challenges, Muse

So I thought I'd have a quick go at writing one as short
as possible, that still makes (some) sense.

That crazy, scarlet beast
Went and arrived at the
Fire Skills Trade Parade.
The place emptied fast.

No problem I'm glad you eventually found it

Great little poem,
and now I have images in my head of a monster and people running and screaming
So few words to create such a scene
many thanks for taking part
