Are you GREEN?? I'm not!

Save the ozone layer everybody! Mother Earth is dying!
I agree, it is. But not due to normal everyday people. The amount of bad gasses our factories pump into the atmosphere are nothing compared to the bad gasses a volcanoe spews into the air. A big volcanic erruption can pump more greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere than all the factories on earth combined - since the industrial revolution.
Be green is a load of trash. The ozone layer is disappearing at the poles, yes, but not due to factories.
Big research task for you, look on the net, on NASA, and astonomical institutions. Notice how the increased appearance of sunspots is directly proportional to the "stengthening and weakening" of the ozone layer.
I agree, don't litter and stuff. Be nice to animals etc...
This whole green campaign is a load of trash mostly, greenpeace are also making fools out of themselves as well. Like this ark thingy they are building and many of their purposeless, meaningless campaigns! I find they are annoying me lately. - Okay get mad with me now environmentalists.

I'll just read the responses, won't reply to all.
But yes, be good to the environment anyway...to all plants and animals etc...but most importantly fellow human beings.

i found this at the geology site for san diego university here in california... i found it interesting, as i was not sure what the stats were concerning volcanic contribution...

INFLUENCE ON THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT:
Volcanic eruptions can enhance global warming by adding CO2 to the atmosphere. However, a far greater amount of CO2 is contributed to the atmosphere by human activities each year than by volcanic eruptions. Volcanoes contribute about 110 million tons/year, whereas other sources contribute about 10 billion tons/year. The small amount of global warming caused by eruption-generated greenhouse gases is offset by the far greater amount of global cooling caused by eruption-generated particles in the stratosphere (the haze effect). Greenhouse warming of the earth has been particularly evident since 1980. Without the cooling influence of such eruptions as El Chichon (1982) and Mt. Pinatubo (1991), described below, greenhouse warming would have been more pronounced.

INFLUENCE ON THE HAZE EFFECT:
Volcanic eruptions enhance the haze effect to a greater extent than the greenhouse effect, and thus they can lower mean global temperatures. It was thought for many years that the greatest volcanic contribution of the haze effect was from the suspended ash particles in the upper atmosphere that would block out solar radiation. However, these ideas changed in the 1982 after the eruption of the Mexican volcano, El Chichon. Although the 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens lowered global temperatures by 0.1OC, the much smaller eruption of El Chichon lowered global temperatures three to five times as much. Although the Mt. St. Helens blast emitted a greater amount of ash in the stratosphere, the El Chichon eruption emitted a much greater volume of sulfur-rich gases (40x more). It appears that the volume of pyroclastic debris emitted during a blast is not the best criteria to measure its effects on the atmosphere. The amount of sulfur-rich gases appears to be more important. Sulfur combines with water vapor in the stratosphere to form dense clouds of tiny sulfuric acid droplets. These droplets take several years to settle out and they are capable to decreasing the troposphere temperatures because they absorb solar radiation and scatter it back to space.

...it's something to think about... as i have said to raoul in the blogs, i believe in cutting back due to the effects it has on the environment, but not necessarily "global warming" effects... emissions and other pollution is terrible for allergies, cancer risks, and ecological systems - like the acid rain that has destroyed much of the smokies here or the filling in of saltmarshes in florida... i think it's important to curb these things for animals and for ourselves... in a completely urban world - if we could figure a way to sustain ourselves - what would we see?? just cockroaches and pigeons lol

on a related topic, do u remember the hubbub back in the 80s about deforestation and save the rainforests?? does anyone even talk about that any more?? lol what they failed to tell u then and why it isn't prominent now, is that the VAST majorit - over 70 percent - of the oxygen produced on the planet comes from microbes in the ocean!!

i did read somewhere about this ark greenpeace is building... what a waste!! i wonder if it offends God as well?? mainly, i just think they could be doing so much better with the man-power, such as building houses with habitat for humanity, or cleaning litter along highways... maybe even lobbying for better laws altogether??

well, enough, i tried to be thoughtful here...

good to see u back blogging around blink
